Does the "ultimate eye" in fullmetal alchemist have anything to do with the "sharingan" from naruto? Is there some japanese tale of an eye's power?

In Japan, you can't see most peoples eyes so mangaka just don't know what eyes really look like.

E7 did eye powers the best

The idea of "evil eyes" and such is a really enormously old idea that's in just about every culture.

You're just a sheltered pleb.

this, eyes, have a huge amount of symbolic power since they are how we perceive the world.

in anime where eyes are typically drawn very big its an easy way to make a character look unique or powerful.

Yes, FMA is a Naruto ripoff

But in all seriousness I never understood how people like the original FMA anime especially when they literally gave bradley 5 seconds of fighting which wasn't even worth watching.

there are way more. it's just silly to have to look them all up for you

That's just scratching the surface

Eye powers actually made sense in a ninja world like naruto. Dojutsu was a thing in ninja popular culture. It's like Geas in Irish myth.

>Heh, that's cute

Basilisk is pretty much all about them.

I'm sure there were some Medusa's that showed up too.

Should be at least 25.

'the evil eye' was a pretty influential ancient meme

How about motherfucking Odin? Eyes are an easy perception symbol, a body part is removed to be replaced with the power, and asymmetry looks unnatural or imperfectly realized, it keeps happening because it's so simple.

no and this is not just japan, it's a human phenomenon

just think of horus

Naw, the ultimate eyes are from Basilisk. One makes you kill yourself, and the other completely nullifies any special ability you have regardless if you don't look back at them.
