Same here though

Shame One Piece have been pretty damned underwhelming at emotional moments post time skip, I literally feel nothing for the new characters

I WANNA LIVE
Based Usopp burning the world government flag too. That whole scene is god-tier.

Bon Clay's 1st and 2nd sacrifices to buy time for Luffy to escape.

it's all downhill from there

Yeah it's that moment for me too. Walk to arlong park after that is great too. The anime used to be great.

When Zoro beat the crap out of Hatchan even when he was on the brink of death with his wound and his fever
When Luffy was about to be executed by Buggy on the platform Roger died and the lightning happened
Zoro cutting steel
Luffy beating Croc
ENEL
The bell ringing
Rokushiki moves
Gear second
Chopper monster point
Sanji diable jambe
Zoro asura
Gear third
Luffy beating Lucci
Burning Merry
Cobys progress
Zoro getting new OP sword
Nightmare Luffy
Zoro sacrifice for Luffy
Supernovas
Rayleigh
Crew splitting
BOA
Breaking out of Impel Down
Everyone seeing Luffys conquerors haki
Luffy losing his shit after Ace died
Sanji geppou
Robin clones herself and makes giant things
Law alliance
Zoro being godlike
Gear fourth
Observation haki can see a little in future

Fisher Tiger's backstory
Marines preventing the kids from seeing the Straw Hats ever again.
Law's Backstory
Kyros' Backstory
Kyros living together with Rebecca again.
"Raizou-Dono Is Safe!"
Sanji's 2nd Backstory
Momonosuke's declaration/desire to take down Kaido

This should be the only answer in this thread.

>Stopped watching just as the timeskip happened and everyone reunited.
>Tried to keep up with the anime but the snail's pace killed it for me.
>Keep telling myself I'll read the manga instead.
>Never read the manga.
I'll get to it. Maybe.

I got ~300 chapters in and that moment came in. I continued reading because I kept hearing good things about it but the show is just boring characters doing the same old boring shit on new islands. I thought I was getting another HxH but I was tricked. Oh well.

...

There's a website called One Pace where they're cutting the filler out of the anime, dunno how far they've gotten though

...

>meanwhile the present one piece is almost nothing like the past
is it inevitable that every series will progress into shit the longer it goes?

I don't really see any difference.

>Rokushiki moves
>Gear second
>Chopper monster point
>Sanji diable jambe
>Zoro asura
>Gear third
>Luffy beating Lucci
>Burning Merry
The tl;dr on why enies lobby is the best arc hands down.

The problem is that majority of the cast has had their arcs so now only side characters like Law get any development.

zoro and luffy get thrash by bellamy at the bar(I watch since the beginning with 4kids,but one piece was just someone I watch to pass time because nothing else was on,but when it got switch to cartoon network and funimation dub,I didn't understand why everything suddenly got so dark,I couldn't tell the difference back then since I was probably 8,after the show got cancelled back in 2006,I decided to go watch it online, watch luffy vs enel in portuguese sub, couldn't find water 7 and majority of enemies lobby, watch luffy vs lucci in german sub,I didn't understand a single thing)

>Fisher Tiger's backstory

Fishman Island is one of the three best arcs in its entirety. Everyone who shittalks it hasn't read through it at least a few times. Only then can you really understand what the whole point of it is.

Also Oda did a good job of making the New Fishman Pirates dangerous while at the same time making them less experienced than the Straw Hats. The drug was a good plot point.

If any speed readers need me to explain why FI was one of the best arcs, just behind Skypiea and Enies Lobby, I am here.

As for the moment that really sold me to OP, honestly, it probably wasn't until the first encounter between Luffy and Enel. When we find out that Enel can't affect Luffy with his lightning, and when Luffy just casually kicks the shit out of Enel after him completely stomping everyone else so easily beforehand... that's when I knew this series was going to be good.

If I wanted to get into this, is manga the way to go?

Yes

The thing that I like about that fight is that Luffy didn't even really win, Enel just tossed him off the ship and fucked off to the moon

yep

Toei is garbage

Tough to say... I started with the anime and I didn't transition to the manga until I caught up to the most recent episodes, and that was only because I couldn't wait when I knew I could get more story through the manga. That being said though the anime starts to noticeably get bad after the timeskip.

I will say start with the anime and go until you start to get annoyed with it (skipping the filler, mind you; use Google to find out which episodes are filler), then switch to manga. It's personally a much nicer experience to do it that way as the VAs for the anime are spot on for every character, the music is phenomenal, and the animation at times (before the timeskip) is amazing.

Luffy clearly won. His goal was to stop Enel from destroying Sky Island and he accomplished it. Enel gave up like a cuck and went straight to the moon because he couldn't beat Luffy.

Luffy crying and say goodbye to Ussop
this is were it got extra serious as an anime

I always enjoyed when Luffy tanked Wapol's cannons while he tried to take down Chopper's flag

This was the moment for me too, right up until Dressrosa made me fall right out of love.

Random fodder guy looking in surprise at location of badass character that is to be highlighted

When Rebecca cried

When the big mermaid cries

When the big mermaids mother cries in the flashback while random fodders look in surprise

When it was all about luffy punching things standing infront of him for 400 chapters

When Luffy is rogers reincanation

When filler characters get introduced whos fight gets prosponed

When the same ugly fatass bitch is living in alice in wonderland the new wotld

Dressrosa. 4 Levels of marathon chars running

giant kids and black white storytelling with muh kids as tearjerker

Holy shit post time skipp One Piece is atrocious
Best one was zorro vs Sanji while ignoring jobbervillains

FPBP

goddamn, this fight was so cool

this
also im just gonna say busoshoku haki ruined one piece.

Pic related and this

I don't know why people dislike Skypiea, i thought it was great, especially all the stuff with Noland

Absolutely, but also check out One Pace as mentioned earlier in this thread. It's the One Piece anime with the filler cut out.

pretty much everything was already posted

I like this one too

youtu.be/GL2OXZvYsKs

doredore....

You forgot SENOR PINK
Which is one of the best stories in the entire series, and by far the best post TS

I think what sold me on the series was the arlong fight and finisher, in the map room

Both, protagonist and antagonist sharing the same dream but with different prospectives.

youtube.com/watch?v=kXUFfoI9Rhc

I agree about Fisher Tiger's story 100%
It was unironically great thematically and as a commentary

Hody was garbage on his own, but served as an extremely important foil for Arlong and Fisher Tiger

there are so many its hard to pick one

Oda really ruined Nami with the time skip. She went from being a lovable short-haired tomboy to a bitchy buzzkill with long hair and nothing to like about her but her tits.

god I miss luffy's hat not looking like a doofy oversized bucket over his head.

my man, thank you
FI is underrated as hell

...

When Luffy stands up after getting the shit beat out of him. Usopp telling him to get up was so emotional.

Arlong Park is really where it begins to truly shine. The emotion, the battles, the resolution; it all comes together so well. It was what made me realize I was taking part in something truly special.

The four guardians sucked but Enel was awesome.

...

This made me a fan for life

I see your point. Haki becomes meaningless now that everyone and their mothers can use it, but there'd be no way to fight logia type otherwise

This

Fucking this.

I think it was ep 11 when Kaya cries realized Usopp was telling the truth

None

Heard the hype

Seen the recommendations

So one time I was sick for a week I went through 80 episodes

Sorry guys I really tried but I just couldn't get into it.

>"Raizou-Dono Is Safe!"
I was really surprised by this one, it really reaffirmed my love for the series by showing me it could still surprise me and hit me emotionally

Valiant effort.

>Episodes
Ya blew it

kind of ruined by the character mentioned turning out to be literally coolface

ep 13 actually

this is the reason I started reading OP

It wasn't even an original line, but

>just after OP's pic
>luffy breaks down the wall to arlong park
>"Which one of you is Arlong?"

I imagined the scenario if it was Garp once

>wall breaks
>Garp walks in wearing a casual vacation outfit with sunglasses and a hat, inconspicuously
>"Who are you?"
>"A tourist"
>"Oh, and what does a tourist want with me?"
>Garp teleports in and one shots him through the wall, past the island and out in the seas somewhere

I actually remember that scene because as soon as luffy destroyed Arlong's park there was an earthquake.l

What about fighting them in creative ways like Luffy did pre timeskip?

no moment because one piece as a whole is garbage

thanks for the bump

I got chills. I still do.

>Every fucking fight with a Logia
>Oh boy I sure am glad that there was "insert weakness" here that I could coat myself with
That would have gotten boring after a while, and how would you even TOUCH Kizaru?

thanks for shitting up Sup Forums

...

It doesn't have to go that way. Could have opened up a way for Usopp/Franky to have another role by having to come up with inventive logia countermeasures rather than just coating in some shit

pretty much that scene, yeah.

There were many but I think a very underrated one is when mr 3 makes lots of clones from his candle shit and says Luffy can't win the fight because he's a musclehead that acts by instinct, and Luffy just hits him the first time he tries. When mr 3 asks how he did it, Luffy just says "Instinct". That was very cliche shonen but done in such a nice and hype way and probably a foreshadowing of observation Haki now that I think about it that I couldn't help but like it.

The absolute best moment for me was the first Luffy vs Bellamy fight, with Blackbeard's words setting it up.

>come up with inventive logia countermeasures
Damn easy for you to suggest this.

Nami's giant fucking titties

I'd much rather it avoid pokemon shit

Thinking back on it, I had forgotten how many hype moments pre timeskip One Piece had. Post timeskip is alright but it doesn't shine like the first half.

So we agree that most of the best scenes are Zoro related?
Not ot mention those G.S amvs

all of Enies Lobby

"shoot down that flag" in the manga

>Zoro vs Mihawk, then promises to Luffy to never lose again
>Zoro goes sword shopping
>Nothing happened
>I got on the wrong ship
>If he wasn't at least this strong then I'd have to become the new captain
>Have you ever met a wild animal you were sure wouldn't bite? Because I haven't

Sanji a shit

Anytime anyone does something to piss luffy off and he gets "serious"

Unironically these
What went wrong?

Yeah. It's faster, better structured, and the artwork is incredibly expressive and impactful in a way that Toei's shitty animation could never replicate.

The first episode I ever saw was Luffu vs Usopp on Toonami. It's a really underrated moment

This.

>One Pace
I like it.

I had a different perception of what One Piece would be before I went in, I thought it would be a lot more tame.
When Lucky Roo (the fat guy on the Red hair crew) shot a man in cold blood I was fucking sold. I didn't expect it but it set the tone of the series perfectly and really stuck with me especially since it was one of the first things to happen.

What got me into it was the arlong arc.

That's not even a good example of how bad Toei's animation is, but none the less this person's right. Read the manga and watch whatever scenes you like afterwards.

>moment
Does all of East Blue count as a moment?

I fell in love with one piece during the arlong park ark. I lost interest slowly after the time skip to the point where i dont even bother checking the new chapter anymore
