I kinda hate the insane amount of bloom that is used in every scene but it's understandable since it's a Mahō shōjo

Perfect use of 2d effects in 3d.

old 3d

new 3d
The difference is gigantic
I don't follow Precure but it seems 95% of the whole Toei budget goes to their ED
Happiness charge has the best one by far though
youtube.com
It's more :
>97% Precure
>2% Dragon ball
>0,000003% One Piece
It's the only one where the girls look like girls instead of animated sticks.I wonder what's the fucking problem whith japanese designer and girl with just a tiny bit of meat on them
Honesty, in the other ones they look like supermodels, all tall and thin and stuff. I think the designs in hacha just lend themselves to 3d a little better, but they also did a really good job with the animation. krkr's EDs have come close, but still not as good as those of HaCha
youtube.com
You all need to learn what a good 3d anime look like
Are you being sarcastic? It's fucking impressive for a '83 anime
CG or not, what I cannot really like about those ED idol dance sequences is that the girls always dance in perfect unison.
I think the stick-thin character designs appeal to Japanese girls and women. I've seen/read a ton of shoujo, josei, and yuri series that do that.

>I think the designs in hacha just lend themselves to 3d a little better
Everything is better than HeartCatch Precure in 3d. It's expecialy jarring when they dance close to the other precure
Okay, that one's really looking good.
It's the best animated one for sure. The main problem with 3d has always been the dead eyes effect and here it's completely avoided

I like this one. Also Etotama made good use of CGI.
>All that bloom
>Every character is literaly a lightbulb
>Or look like it's made of cheap plastic
Cute as fuck tho'
If you haven't watch Etotama, don't open the webm, it might spoil you something if you plan to watch it in the future.
They are magical girls of course the radiate light you omega pleb
>Complaining about the bloom
> on a Mahō shōjo serie
This one's also quite nice. Helps that it had a slightly evolving credit where more and more CGI-myumons started running in the background.

Especially liked the final version where president Eggman jumps around with the choco-squirrel's guitar.

Looks decent
Gonna be interesting to see when Toei switches to just 100% CGI Anime

Not an anime but you get my drift
They need to stop making videogames and make anime fulltime, the best part of CC2's games are always the animations and cutscenes anyways
>youtube.com
CUTE! The 2 tall girls look like they are just waiting to molest the other one once the song is finished
This is cyberconnect 2, not Khara.
CC2's actually a video game developer, but they are infamous for their animations and cutscenes.
>hire cyberconnect2 to make an anime
>Every episode cost like a movie
I just want to go ahead and thank you for your concern. I'll go ahead and watch it right away just because you were nice enough to respect the spoiler code-of-conduct.
How much did Asura's Wrath cost? It was pretty much just an interactive anime
I'm 100% it was a yakuza money laundering plan. There are no other explenations
I like's me some Snack World.
It's a good anime and a mediocre videogame. No idea about the budget
Are you sure it's japanese? It looks like a french cartoon dub
They are all rotoscoped so it's kinda cheating to compare them to normal animation
It's called motion capture.not rotoscoping and the facial animation are still handmade
It's totally Japanese. Especially in how unashamed it is in promoting the RPG video game elements.
This is the power of Level 5 money.
CLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANG
The girl with green eyes is beyond creepy.
How was Sidonia? I kinda liked the manga
Apparently, the BD version was a lot better than the original TV broadcast version.

Here's some horrible 3d fighting
It's all a matter of the original 2d design. Some character are designed to be always looked in a very specific way and look horribly deformed in 3d
The animations for FE Awakening and Fates come to mind.
post them!
The mo-cap is excellent but aren't there more than a few hand-drawn (or at least hybrid) parts in there?
Etotama's action was absolutely insane. I'm not sure I've seen better in cg.
>the facial animation are still handmade
Ah, that explains a lot, then.
>good cgi in anime
>no one posted MJP
Explain

Also appmon has pretty good cgi and cc2 is fucking great.
They made Naruto 100× more enjoyable.
it sort of took Orange a little bit to properly get the hang of shit but once they did, goddamn.
Yeah they are also doing K&M this season and it looks real good.
They are probably the best in the industry when it comes to CGI or atleast when it comes to cgi mechs.
>the fight from the first episode
>Nya-tan vs Chu-tan
>Mo-tan vs Chu-tan
>that final battle
That show was on another level
It's been 15 years and still nothing's topped Yukikaze.
Are you even trying as hard as you used to, Japan?
This is what anime needs.
sakugabooru.com
first part
youtu.be
And some Kado scenes.
Only Toei can do it in the entire anime or gaming industry, coz they keep pushing and keep throwing money at it. Arc System CG is not preferable for these kind of projects.
Kek
SJW.

I enjoy the effort but i realy get a MICHEAL BAY EXPLOSIONS from the clip you posted
Nah it's full 3d. It's simply very well made

Character would look fine in an anime
prety much. the actual shows are often fairly simple as far as backgrounds or animation goes.

The power of weeb games
Orange does good work. I'm kind of interested in seeing what their completely in-house series will be like next season. First time they're making something completely on their own instead of being an add-on CG studio for another company's show.
Does it have a brutal release schedule like Dragon ball super ?
see That's what you get when you dont't pay facial animators enough: Chep lifeless plastic looking dolls
50 episodes and two movies per year, every year.
that doesn't mean they have to pencil every frame. it's more like hand-tweaking the 3D animation frame by frame.
Well at least it's way better than some nightmare inducing facial MoCap
Can someone explain how they managed to achieve a 2d look? I mean the face has no shadow, the hand is fully cell shaded and other part of the body are randomly with or without shades
Forgot the image
Sometimes they copy-paste the motion, sometimes they don't.
...
It can be digitaly tweaked.
Soooooooooooo.......
Why the skirts?
You can configure individual surfaces whether they should participate in global shading or not.
Similarly they can be configured so that shading only kicks in when the light angles exceed some thresholds, that avoids the shadow creeping over the surface when they turn slightly.
forgot my image there
Aikatsu Stars has pretty good CGI, especially in the facial expressions.

Not 161410347, but here:
youtube.com
>Dresses make little to none shadow
>Random hand leave a perfect shadow on the other girl hair
>Area under the skirt has a shadow
>gigantic poofy hair have always the same light
It's a mistery
Things have changed quite a bit. Look at the polygons on the finger in pic related

Good facial animation avoid the effect of having the characters look like real person wearing giant cardboard anime faces like here
She's not human, so that's only appropriate.
No wait, that was mahou precure.
Well, this one is not much different, she is french.
Speaking of creepy greens.
...
The humans in ID-0 were meh, but the robots played to the strengths of CG and managed to be fairly emotive for something without faces.
It started not so well, but the way they were able to blend classic animation and 3D in the second film was fantastic.
youtube.com
so many dead girls from head trauma and g-forces alone.
>40 pound of hair
>Pencil neck
>Fight monster half their days
How often do they get their head snapped in half?
It started not so well, but the way they were able to blend classic animation and 3D especially in the second film was fantastic (fucked up the link, this one shows better the way they evolved)

Post horrible 3d
youtube.com
>Kado
it showed some things that I can appreciate on a technical level, but the characters were still stiff and uncanny most of the time
>pop in q
>call it a dance movie
>there's two dances in the whole movie
>the OP is chopped into pieces
goddamnit toei
I don't understand. Why did they replace textures with pen stokes? Is it because it would have taken too much time to render?
An attempt to imitate the manga style.
Have you read the manga? Pen stroke are part of the original style. Unfortunately they look horrible here like everithing else
