She is impervious to any kind of damage, her haki is strong as hell and her fruit is one of the strongest ever show. Plus her crew is fucking big, and supported by THOUSAND of homies. How much should Shanks and red pirates strong in order to fight with BM head on? He is inferior in phisical strenght, resistance and power, since he doesn't have a fruit. Hell, his Haki must have some extra effect. Maybe his haki is so strong that he can suppress the fruit power, scaring the sea devil power

Shanks probably has ridiculous conqueror's Haki that could knock out the majority of her crew. His armament's and observation Haki is probably stronger than any other character's as well.
He was terminally ill and older. He was able to take hundreds of knife and bullet wounds as well as over a dozen cannonball shots and still fight. Also half his face got blown off and he was still going.

you can be ugly and fat as a kid, hit puberty and become hot. this happened to big mom on a larger scale and a bit exagerated, its one piece after all.

It does actually, kinda. Irl the face proportions of a little girl and those of an old woman are eerily similar. Big head (compared to the body), eyes close to one another, fat everywhere around the head, etc.

Kaido is definitely going to be stronger than Big Mom. He's probably only rivalled in physical strength by maybe Garp. He's likely to have a godly mythical zoan fruit to boot. He's not considered the strongest beast for no reason.
