No, I think they want to have their cake and eat it too. Same thing that happened with Flip Flappers, where they wanted both their episodic genre-jumping adventures and their DEEP plot and it just blew up on their faces. And yes I know the staff is different, that doesn't mean they learned that the stove is hot by watching someone else burn their hands with it.

You're probably right that it'll end like that. I'd have no problem if the plan to become queen just stayed a subplot throughout the entire show, but they'll probably pull some sort of resolution for it.

But the episodic episodes have been very fun.
Yet they could only do those if they had the premise set first. The premise got all those characters together and sends them out on all the episodic missions they do and sets the structure of the world they live in.

Calling the writer shit at pacing still assumes that it's supposed to be all about Princess becoming queen, and there's been very little to support that aside from you just wishing it were the case. Right now you're just whining that they're not telling the story you want them to tell because the story you have in your head is clearly much better than whatever they came up with.

The real issue is the lack up any refresh on the princess plot. No update of what they are doing, nothing happening is connected to it, reminds us of it or gives us anything new about it. A 2 min part at the end of each episode showing something related to it would have been enough. Some clues or developments to keep an illusion of progress at least.

Right, all of like 5 conversations across 7 episodes. Besides, did you miss the one in episode 6 about how long-term of a goal it is? You'll be lucky to get any kind of resolution for it.

That's why I just don't think it's all that relevant to the show. If they have all those opportunities to advance what people think is the plot but just don't do it, they're either very incompetent or that just wasn't their goal. I prefer to believe that they want to tell a different story.

The thing is you can do an episodic show with an overarching plot only relevant in some episodes, Cowboy Bebop is a good example, but with only 12 episodes to work with it's a little too late now for our show to be that

Even if the ending somehow solves the main plot in a satisfying manner (which I doubt), it still diesn't change the fact that the last 4 episodes has neglected the plot. That's called poor pacing. That's why it's called poor pacing, you fucking idiot. The overarching plot is not something that must take up a tremendous amount of screentime. It simply needs to be something that is continuously happening, something that is the ultimate goal of the characters. Ep 1 to 3 played out perfectly that overarching plot in the episodic format: first introduced Ange's seriousness, then revealing her relation to the Princess and the Princess' goal, which make people learned the significance of Ange's actions in ep 1.

After that, nothing. And that's why people are mad at this failure of storytelling. They could have avoided this shittiness simply by having a couple minutes that characterize the Princess and developing the plot, without changing the episodes at all.

You're still assuming that that is the story they wanted to tell, which I don't, seeing how there is so little of it. The only mistake I can credit them is making people think early on that Princess' plot is of such importance to the whole show.

If they don't want it to have a plot, don't introduce one.

The nips only started watching this show because of the swordfight in episode 5, I don't think you should trust their opinion on the story, whatever it may be.

Well, clearly it's not the story they have been telling or else you wouldn't be crying like a little child who's not getting his way. You have no idea if that is the story they wanted to tell. For all we know it only could have served to introduce Ange's and Princess' motivation for everything they do and since they're the main characters their stories are getting more focus than others. This show has been about the girls in spy situations since day 1 and was even announced as such, but you're calling it bad pacing because you're convinced that they're coming back to the "main plot" any week now.
