I don't really see that, but for the sake of discussion, let's say Touma does wish to stop Accelerator from protecting Last Order. In this situation, wouldn't the winner be determined by which one had more force of will and not "muh powerlevels"?

Accelerator has an in built mechanism to job to Touma at this point. Also if Accelerator is protecting Last Order Touma has to protect Othinus to even the odds.

Oh and no teaming up and fighting off Aleister because whatever he's doing to hurt Last Order is stopping Lola, who can kill everyone" would play out. That was an (oddly specific) example of a situation Touma might want to stop Accelerator from defending Last Order
