First off, bump stocks are a 508 "equal access" device, like ramps and rails and the big bathroom stall for the handicapped. Bump stocks are a device to allow people who have certain physical challenges to operate a rifle. If you ban bump stocks, you might as well start banning all the rest of 508 equipment.
Second, if the bump stock ban is the same one they tried to pass after the Las Vegas shooting, the ban was on all devices that improved the rate of fire of a semi-automatic, including bump stocks, binary triggers, and cranks.
Third, bump stocks have only been used once in a crime. Not a good precident to give in on this just to make a few literal SJW drama students look good.
