Zoloft = never allowed to own a firearm?

Guys, I have social anxiety and my doctor prescribed Zoloft. I can't get boners anymore and I'm worried I won't be allowed to ever get a gun either. I am a NEET living in a shitty neighborhood because it's all my family can afford. This area is 90% Mexican and people nearby have been robbed before. I've been wanting to save up money to buy something to protect my family but I'm worried I will be rejected because I've been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder several years ago.

Does the 2nd amendment not apply to me? People with mental health problems are far FAR more likely to be victims than we ever are to be attackers. We need more protection, not less. Please tell me everything will be ok Sup Forums

I buy Zoloft online without a prescription.

I need it but fuck getting labelled as "mentally ill" and put on a list.

It is something that can be used against you.

Well you were weak enough to trust doctors, which you should never do unless you're serverely physically injured or dying from infection and even then you should question and research every single thing you're perscribed
It's too late, the diagnosis is on your record forever even if you go to a different doctor
Most people with a mental health issue are always better off seeking therapy before pills, seeing as most anti depressants, anti anxiety, and anti psychotic meds backfire not solving the problem and causing brain damage more than half the time they're perscribed

It's not like I ASKED for it. My doctor didn't even mention therapy until after I was on meds. I didn't know that was on option. I don't even really like Zoloft but whenever I try to stop taking it I feel 10x worse than before I started.

Think about the patient/doctor privacy laws that would be violated in order to make a public database of someones mental health. It's obvious that creating such a database would have massive potential for abuse. It would also further stagmitize the mentally ill, thus being a deterent for people to get the help they need. This won't happen.

In New Mexico, firearm purchases are already banned from the mentally ill. "Have you ever been committed to a psychiatric institution?" is a question. Just like "Do you consume illicit substances, including marijuana?" Yet people who smoke pot still get guns, and I can't think of a reason why they shouldn't.

You're fine user.

There are privacy laws, in a background check it's a check for criminality not mental health.

I was on antidepressants as a child too. They caused me to become something that I wasn't. They caused me to be diagnosed with Asperger's, despite me scoring neurotypical on tests.

Don't worry. Try and see if you can get anxiety off of your record. See if you can get it labled as a false diagnosis.

buy it from a gun show niggerfaggot

Side note: Almost every socialist government has used "mental illness" as a way to disarm and abuse it's dissidents, I'm not surprised they are pushing for this. Example:

How does this work, exactly? Your health information is protected by law. Your doctor can't tell anyone about your diagnoses or anything else without your express permission, with the exception of other medical personnel you deal with.

This. It’s not going to happen.

Something like 10% of the US population has been prescribed anti depressants anyway.

Not only that, a lot of psych meds are repurposed for off-label use. Prozac is repackaged in a different strength and called Sarafem, for PMS.

If I moved to America or another country they would find out my potential medical history.

wheres handguns in your image op? very dishonest

Didn't notice your flag. Carry on.

Us red, white and blues gotta stick together.

Unless you've been involuntarily committed to an insane asylum, you can still buy a gun.

Yeah but I think what OP is pointing to is the fact that a lot of people (Trump included) have been talking about extreme mental health screening in the background checks. Where would that line be drawn?

fuck what people say, i love you britfriend. i'd always try to stick my neck out for an anglo brother. we're in this together at this point

Just did a search and found this about a rule that the Obama administration put in place a few years ago.

politico.com/story/2016/01/obama-gun-control-rule-mental-illness-217340

“Under the rule, which takes effect next month, for the first time health providers can disclose the information to the background check system without legal repercussions.”

I know man I feel the same, fuck the EU.

dude...try progressive desensitization i.e. fucking talk to people to get over your anxiety. don't fall for the pharma jew.

many years ago i was wrongly diagnosed as "depressed" after my fiancee unexpectedly traded up to a better-looking man and I lost my job. i took zoloft for about two months, then stopped. as i experienced it, the drug erased much of the emotional content of my childhood memories, and also burned ~5 IQ points.

Don't fall for the pharma jew.

>implying he's not a pakastani immigrant

>I can't get boners anymore
LOLOLOLOLOL

It's not like I was using them anyway

What a dick! I didn't know that.

Great, it's already in place and the insane still get their hands on guns!

It's almost like gun control doesn't work.

I would be willing to bet that the only time people are submitted to a database like that, is when people tell their therapist that they are planning on hurting someone. Then the therapist is obligated to notified authorities. I bet it's a system for those types of notifications. In which case, I'm actually all for. It's newspeak to call this "common sense gun control".

I'm against something like creating a public access database that includes something like a SSN tied to a "diagnoses of depression".

if anyone believes theres a direct correlation between antidepressants and gun violence you seriously have a mental illness

Dr. Peter Breggin says you can fuck off.

I take Ritalin to help me focus and to regulate my mood. It helps me quite a bit. I'm going be keeping my firearms, and anyone who tries to disarm me is going to get shot. I'd rather die than give up my rights. I'm a responsible gun owner and I don't have a history of violence or abusing others. I mind my own business and I earn an honest living. If tyranny comes knocking on my door, I'm going to shoot it square in the face. I don't care if it's the national guard, the local police, some group of commies, or anyone else. Anyone who tries to take my guns will be met with armed resistance. I'm already sick of living in fucking clown world and I don't have much to live for. I'll die defending my property from thieves and traitors.

People who are depressed need to go to therapy in order to resolve the issues in their lives. In my opinion they should never take the drugs.

> Robertson told investigators he was being treated for depression and alcohol abuse and said he had stopped taking his medication four days before the incident happened.

> Two years later, an increased dosage of the antidepressant Prozac might have made her more prone to do the unthinkable: strangling, slicing the throat and repeatedly stabbing a 9-year-old neighbor girl to death, Bustamante’s defense attorneys suggested Monday during a sentencing hearing.

>His wife, a registered nurse, contends it was the prescription antidepressant Prozac that prompted Daren to shoot himself in the head May 23, 2001. What made the suicide even more surprising was that Daren had taken the prescribed dosage for only three days to treat a mild case of depression. The drug made him feel jittery, so he flushed the rest down the toilet, Michele said. Four days later, he was dead.

>> Robertson told investigators he was being treated for depression and alcohol abuse
>alcohol abuse
no, it was the alcohol mixed with the drug that made him do it, guaranteed

No one who takes SSRIs or psychotropics should be allowed to own guns until after a cessation period off the drug. If you want your second amendment back then ween yourself off the pills. It's really simple. Everyone with a functioning brain cell can see that violent homicidal killing sprees always are always perpetrated by people on or recently off psychotropic meds. Before these meds existed these sprees didn't happen.

> a direct correlation between antidepressants and gun violence you seriously have a mental illness
> the alcohol mixed with the drug

Do antidepressants make you more or less likely to be violent and or kill your self? Pick one. In the mean time, lets read some more of the other thousands of stories for more data!

> A WOMAN has launched an unprecedented lawsuit against her 16-year-old daughter’s doctor, claiming her child became suicidal after being prescribed antidepressant drug Zoloft. She was on Zoloft for four days then on the fifth, she had a complete mental breakdown.

> McCallister and Angel Gonzales, the trooper’s wife, told police that Gonzales had stopped taking Zoloft, which had been prescribed for him to fight depression, four days before he shot himself.

> AHMEDABAD: A woman, apparently suffering from depression, set herself and her three children ablaze at Pathan ki Chali in Maninagar. According to police, the woman Shanaz Bano was also under medication for depression.

Look Zoloft had a Class Action lawsuit filed against them and now you can have some of that delicious sewage money!

> The class action lawsuit, case no. 13-CV-00414-PSG, filed on January 29, 2013, alleges that Pfizer orchestrated a massive marketing campaign designed to convince, in the face of the vast majority of clinical trial data to the contrary, that Zoloft was a very effective (e.g., “Zoloft has helped millions with depression”) and safe treatment for depression.

I see

One thing at a time. Boner first then firearm. Till then bear mace.

...

>taking your meds
your fault, also you can still buy guns at gun shows, as long as they don't think you're crazy
