You're wrong about one thing here. Since Hibiki is the one fighting Germain it will actually be different. By that I mean she won't be beat and HIbiki will just be cucked out of doing anything remotely interesting ever since her character was completely destroyed in GX.

The end credits scene was just Kirika pointing out that the shrine uses the same chracter as Shirabe's name; and the old man talking earlier basically just hammers in "Shirabe is from this shrine"

Shirabe had a charm from the shrine on her bag when the FIS kidnapped her, so they named her Shirabe (調) because she didn't remember her name.
May or may not be a relation, but I think it's likely given how we've been getting daddy issues for every other character.
