But it's still happening.

Remember that time every female anime fan obsessed over this show? Dark times. Then Escaflowne and Inu Yasha did it again.

At least Escaflowne had mechs.

I sure do.

I sure do
I'm so fucking angry that shoujo is dead because most women just buy sports shit like haiykuu now

Remember that time when isekai was two girls with amazing legs who don't give a fuck?

nobody does ;-;

>I'm so fucking angry that shoujo is dead
Its not in any way. You apparently just only know about the most popular harem/VN stuff Sup Forums talks about.

Think of it as the female version of the transition from haremshit to yurishit. No need to play pretend with an token audience-gender protagonist any more, just pour the gay neat.

Bunch of girls after a loser MC's dick is a lot more appealing than shoujo romance drama. Chiriko ;_;

Still haven't watched Strange Dawn. Heard it had a great soundtrack, though.

There needs to be a Rayearth remake. The original has aged like shit and any studio picking up a Clamp title will surely have the money for 2D mech fights.

>wanting a remake
>all mechs are now CGI
>dry digital animation
>all the characters have new voices
>epic soundtrack is changed
No. Save the remakes for shows that had potential but didn't meet it the first time. Like Lost Universe or Escaflowne.

Remember when issekai was actually good?

>isekai
I honestly don't know what this term is. I keep seeing it used, but don't care to learn yet another meme term.

@161719677
Ironic shitposting is still shitposting.

...

>MIDI soundtrack
>epic

Besides that, half of this sounds like stuff that Sailor Moon Crystal has scared other studios out of. So I wouldn't be that worried. Rayearth has a lot of untapped potential that a new adaptation could easily take advantage of.

十二国記 count?

It's way too good for how little attention it's received.

Oh, someone beat me to it. I enjoyed it later in the series, but there were parts early on where it really dragged on.

Yeah, that's one of the handful of orchestrated songs in the soundtrack. Wouldn't you like to hear the whole thing sounding like this?

First off, 1/4 the OST is orchestrated. Second of all, fun fact. CLAMP originally made Magic Knight Rayearth after being inspired by video RPGs of the time. So you could actually say the synth soundtrack was part of their attempt to make it resemble a series such as Dragon Quest or Phantasy Star. I have no evidence that's what they are going for, but it seems logical since even low budget anime at the time didn't bother with synth music.

And then they went right around to making a JRPG based on a series based on JRPG elements. Nice.

>a japanese word is a meme term

yeah but im a dyke so while the movie to yurishit is great for me, i never watched shoujo stuff like escaflowne or sailor moon for the boys; i watched it because it was shoujo and appealed to me, and also for the female friendship

literally my gateway anime

Red best girl all these years later

are you me?

If they *really* wanted to make a cool video game-like soundtrack they should have gone with Genesis music.

CUTE

Red was genki, but as time went on, I appreciated Blue's discipline. Plus babby's first kishi, and she gave me a thing for tall swimmers.

I was a Fuu kind of guy.

Cheerful innocent tomboys are a blessing. Although I really ended up liking Umi a lot too.

There is one ongoing right now. Anime in like one year probably.

...

Haven't read it but certainly hope it gets adapted, I love the genre.

Fuu seems to be one of those characters that's almost nobody's actual favorite, but still gets liked by most people.

Wallflower nature? I mean I think she had healing powers, but she was also the least spotlighted, so she was almost supporting cast despite being ostensibly one of the tritagonists.

>I love the genre.
What genre?

>anime in a year
What makes you think that

>everyone likes you but you're not anyone's waifu

What's it about? There's no english scanlation for it right?

>Bunch of girls after a loser MC's dick is a lot more appealing than shoujo romance drama.
Unironically this.

Still is. Still as cliche as male Isekai, but at least she's cute.

At least she has this guy.

Umi wound up with bighat the summoner, after he aged up, right? Or did he wind up with the tanned girl?

>that shoujo is dead

Doesnt seem dead, true that the days of having a Shoujo series in the 3-6th place are gone,

I liked Fuu more than the other girls. Problem with this show is I didn't find any character particularly captivating. I honestly found Zagato to be the most interesting character given that he did nothing wrong and just protected his princess like he should.

Ascot liked her, but in the animu she wanted Clef and in the mango she said she wasn't interested in having a boyfriend yet.

A girl just wants some melon ice cream but she gets scammed into helping a pair of delinquent inventor children with their dangerous contraptions.

He still tried to kill three young girls and was willing to let the world be destroyed in order to save her. He's sympathetic, but not a saint. Princess Emeraude truly did nothing wrong.

Because it's popular enough and the current pace seems like it would adapt two chapters to one episode.

>Princess Emeraude truly did nothing wrong.
What?

How many episodes would that make?

12. What kind of question is that? That's all that anything gets anymore and the manga probably won't have enough content for 24 episodes by the time it's over unless they pull some shit like chapters about each character's past life or they do two entire volumes of backstory.

Also, she acquired a dude in episode 3. Used goods, etc.

For anyone who cares, Duke's Daughter has restarted translations. We're up to chapter 79 i believe

BEHEAD ALL THOSE WHO INSULT IRIS-SAMA

>picking Tamahome over Tasuki

Miaka was stupid as shit.

Umi a best

I made it pretty far into this series a long ass time ago, but all the "MIAKA, TAMAHOME, MIAKA, TAMAHOME, MIAKAAA" started to get to me.

I'm not sure I could last even a few episodes now that I'm old and grumpy.

Princess Emeraude summoned the girls to kill her to save the world. Zagato don't want her to die so he kidnap her.

She also went murder crazy

Emeraldo hime also tricked a ton of her servants to go fight the girls out of self preservation. As well as giving the girls super vague telepathic messages that didn't explain her motives at all. At best she is bi polar. At worst, she changed her mind and didn't want to die, so was using everyone in her kingdom to protect her own life.

Who is Isekai?

I 'member hearing about this on TV I think but never got around to seeing it. Or maybe I saw a couple of episodes and don't remember.

You're isekai, once you die.

Remember when a girl could be isaguy?

Remember that time when isekai used goods?

Remember when you could make a harem isekai and have it be good?

I remember that time when you could post in coherent English. Oh wait, that never happened.

So who was the first lady of isekai? Alice Liddel? Wendy Darling? Spirited Away?

Princess Kaguya?

Does she really count though, given that she's supposedly part of "our" world?

Huh. So she's from the moon. Wait, do we usually count travelers to earth under isekai?

It's a matter of perspective.

I guess it is. Personally i dont think it's a matter of distance but setting i guess.

How many isekai take place in a world that is near-modern?

>Escaflowne
>Rayearth
>Fushigi Yuugi

The days where Isekai before it was cool.

Heres a hint newfag rape

I can think of two.
I other is Utawareru.

The last isekai that had the vastness of older series was Kyou Kara Maou. The bigger cast helped a lot.

Damn, I remember that. Wasn't that the show that's supposed to be "Evangelion in the El Hazard universe"?

I never got into FY aside from reading some of the manga, but that ED was always one of my favorites.

I admit I've never even heard of this anime, and I've been a weeb since the early 2000s.

>we'll never get an anime sequel

I always have a weak spot on EDs that ease in as the episode ends.

I don't remember but I'm starting now, user. Thanks!
