>Two years ago, the Sun Sentinel reported that Israel was rewarding top political supporters by giving them and their family members cushy jobs doing public relations and community outreach for the Broward County Sheriff's Office. One such position, outreach manager, paid out a salary of $78,489. The person who got that job was the husband of Israel's campaign manager.
>Israel's opponents say he's built a publicly funded political machine, paying back supporters with jobs and using them to keep him in office. They say the money could be better spent, particularly after the sheriff complained about not having enough funding to secure the county courthouse, where a murder suspect recently escaped.

He probably never actually "lived" there, but there was probably an office that the sheriff's office did not pay the school to use. But give a cop his own private room and he'll go fuck off to sleep in it.
Also, the corrupt school cops needed somewhere to go to doctor their evidence, what with their half an hour delay on the security cameras. Broward county sheriffs and the school board are working together to cover up how their willing ignoring of student crimes to artificially lower their crime statistics and get government money lead to this shooting.

Funny. Let’s expose him shall we? Read through his response thread.
I would say the entire community is the quintessential example of "it's not what you know, it's who you know". And unfortunately, it has flowed over to law enforcement, in this case.

to try to be fair to the security officer, here is a comment in his defense:
>It is easy to criticize the SRO from the comfort of your couch. Put yourself in his shoes. Yes he had a job, but he was outgunned and without backup. He did not have all the information to clearly access the situation. Police in high risk tragic stops are supposed to wait for back up before engaging a potential suspect... yet we expected him to run in guns blazing by himself. He had a job to protect and maintain peace... I think everyone can agree though this was an extraordinary situation that required more planning and thought. I feel for him... it is not his fault students are dead. Blame the shooter who actually did the killing. A handgun would not have stopped an AR15.
