Sometimes when you tap Serval, she giggles and says "Nani?" in this purely innocent voice that's just like a girl about to be told she's liked.

Maybe the game is integrated with the alarm functionality and you can choose a voice for alarm clock from your collected friends. And I'm sure that would make the game be the killer app.

Is there a way to make the alarm repeat? Seems like it wouldn't work at all for a heavy sleeper.

The recent updates all seem to be focused on adding character animations. No signs of a combat system just yet.

The level of quality in doujin work is getting insane these days. I know the Kemono Friends Project has stated it's favorable towards unofficial fanworks but if I were an investor I'd be getting kind of worried.

Its their fault if 1 guy happens to be faster than an entire corporation.

If the rabid fanbase can create better products with your IP than you can then you are potentially losing out on millions of dollars (yen) in revenue. If you're a kind-hearted creator who likes seeing other people create derivative works then you might be ok with that. If you're a finance corporation that expects a return on its investment then you might not be so ok with it.

They didn't revive the app tho.

Thankfully that's now how Japan's doujin culture works. The only exception that explicitly forbids fanmade games I know of is KanColle, and that's only because they know their game is so shit that anything fans make would be a lot better.

I imagine in most games its usually 3 talented individuals pulling most of the work anyway(or maybe that can be said about anything)

I only remember seeing one a comic that actually touched on that, with a burned out salaryman wishing he could go to a place full of love. He then wakes up in Japari Park and is a catgirl with no memories of her past life. Even that doesn't use sandstar shenanigans as its catalyst.

That said, this is a bit of untapped potential that I'm actually fine with not being exploited. I can just take it as a goofy plot device to pull the concept together, and leave it at that. It's not like simply existing in a sandstar area triggers transformation anyway, as the MC in the game could have been male or female. I actually have a soft spot for gender bender stories, but it's exactly because of that that I'm aware of how this concept can go full retard when an easy plot device this easy is available. Fortunately, much like the show's lack of loli appeal, the gender bending aspect doesn't attract any humongous faggotry.

Word of God itself said that Sandstar always turns what it hits into girls, and I find it very likely that there would be predominantly female animals in a zoo. Unless all the males died for some reason.
