I liked Stone Ocean. Thought the setting was pretty interesting and it amps the weirdness of Jojo up towards the end higher than the past parts, which I also like.

I'm a few volumes into SBR right now and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I like the modern day Jojos more than the period piece ones, so I'm excited to get to Jojolion.

These character designs suck.

Those two are my favorite parts, so both.

However, VA's ending felt a little flat and left a few loose threads out in the open while SBR had a slow start and unceremoniously killed off some side characters either too soon or because the character suddenly felt out of purpose as the story progressed.

Same thing happened to me, user, although I finished it a few months ago. SO had its good moments, but it felt like a drag to read in the long run. SBR starts slow but it got way better, and Jojolion is good if you're into mystery.

The character designs past part 3 are fucking awful. Make the characters manly again

Nah, they're better after part 3. That kind of overly buff design with characters with fucking 12 packs or whatever that was popular in the 80s always looked retarded.

I'm about 7 chapters away from finishing sbr and it's the most overhyped part by far imo. It's way too long, takes itself way too seriously and characters lack characterization outside of plot relevant elements. Also, I love crazy shit (which is why SO is my favourite part) but something about all the rotation asspulls didn't click with me

I never liked how they killed off side characters so quickly. Mountain Tim and Sandman deserved better

Same here. Especially with Sandman. There was so much foreshadowing and he ended up being trivial to the main plot. Also "my name is actually soundman" was one of the weakest lines in the whole series.
Also I'm curious how the anime voice acting will turn out. There are multiple chapters in which johnny, lucy and some other characters say absolutely nothing besides "huu hu aah aaah" for pages over pages...
