Monogatari

I just finished Owari S2 after re-watching the whole series.

Sup Forums, this is my most favorite ending to any season on this show. It's ridiculous how far the cast has all come in their journeys up to this point. I loved this ending so much because it felt like a cultivation of every character's hard work, not only to improve themselves but to help improve each other.

It is the most emotional I've ever gotten, watching this show. Maybe that's because this could possibly be the last season we see of Monogatari but I really hope that doesn't turn out to be the case. It was such a fantastic ride up to here.

Please, Shaft, I beg you. Please don't stop adapting these.

and come on, Sup Forums. There's no thread right now so here it is. Tell me what you love or what you hate about this show. Who are the best and worst girls or boys? Let's just talk about this show because I feel bittersweet after watching that season and I don't want it to end.

Come on what? There were plenty of maxed threads back to back when Owari s2 first came out, watch shit faster

This is about the time the contrarians all show up to bitch about how the series is pretentious, so don't be surprised. I'm glad you enjoyed Owari S2 though.

The anime really added to the reunion with Hachikuji and watching Araragi and Shinobu flip the "tragedy" in Kizu on it's head was great. Shaft sold the confrontation with Ougi better than I imagined as well.

I decided last minute after Owari S2 dropped to re-watch the whole series before catching up so I was a bit behind and kept away from those threads, yes. That doesn't negate the right to make a thread about the show if there isn't one right now though, does it? Sorry if this annoys you, user.

100% agreed. I really enjoyed what ended up happening with those 3, specifically. I am anime only in this case so I didn't have any pre-conceived notions or ideas of how the events would play out. That being said, I was surprised how they handled Ougi's arc and really liked the outcome of it in general.

>this could possibly be the last season we see of Monogatari
nah, shaft will do at least 10 more seasons stung across a span of 20 years in which we despite him having graduated will all somehow take place in Araragi's high school years. each season will gradualy incorporate more fan service until the final season is nothing but a 2 hour long shot of kanbaru's ass.

Throw in some lolibutt and I'm sold.

>this could possibly be the last season we see of Monogatari
Nah, Shaft said that they would animate ALL of the novels. It's all Monogatari from down here.

Agreed. The ending gave me some serious Disappearance vibes, and I mean that in a good way.

If that's true then I guess I have nothing to worry about. This show really does feel like it could go on forever and I'd never get bored of it.

Each consequential adaptation has been inferior to the previous,
Shaft did a great job with Bake while I hated Kizu and Owari S2, and everything in between is a steady slope downward
Sales contradict my opinion of course

As to why it got worse, Shaft injected more and more of their style

You should English before posting.

This may have been my favorite ending but I think I have to agree with you that Bake was definitely great. I'm not sure if I'd rank it higher then Second Season overall but if I don't then it would at least be extremely close behind it as my favorite season of the show.

And everyone is entitled to their own opinions, user so I appreciate you for sharing yours. To each their own tastes, I say.

> Shaft injected more and more of their style

Bake was nothing but talking to the background of 'shaft style', what the shit are you talking about?

I watched like half of Nise and then skipped to Owari S2. I don't understand why you would watch hours of this, when it's just the same jokes made over and over with the same shitty character development where characters tell you what they're feeling. This would be such a great show if it actually did some world-building, if it had a story to tell that didn't revolve around these characters telling the story to each other.

By going too hard with their style they diminished the quality of dialogue & narration

If Bake was 1:1 balance, Kizu was 1:10

I can't imagine you got much out of Owari S2 without knowing what the hell happened to everyone in between that and Nise.

>As to why it got worse, Shaft injected more and more of their style
I was curious how close tonally the novels were to the animu.

>ending

So OP... is this where I tell you main season still has two seasons to adapt outside of short stories or...? Not to mention the new "season".

>watch character-driven anime
>start on episode 16
>ignore all the characters
>watch the ending
>have a bad time
Who could have seen that coming?

>Fan service, moonspeak puns, and reused gags: the show
Other than those two things its just another harem meme. Its art style and direction are very interesting which makes it worth it to watch a season or two, but other than that its nothing special. I actually watched every season just to make sure I wasn't missing some special build up or ending which would make the journey worth it. Yet it failed at that in every way.

Wait wait wait... you skipped from Nise(the season that never should of existed... no literally the Author has said he wrote it for him self) to the ending of a series?! How the fuck are you okay with doing that?! You literally miss out of everything you complained about... Try better next time when trolling okay?

People like you should not have access to the internet

Why does everyone hate Nise so much? I really liked it.

Because Nise is mostly just fanservice.

>the season that never should of existed... no literally the Author has said he wrote it for him self
Stop being a mindless retard that regurgitates bullshit. Nisio has said the same exact thing about every single book in the series. Every book literally comes with a sticker on the front that's some pun about how much he wrote it for himself. Nise is not at all unique in that regard. Nise dropped Bake's formula and idiots thought it was different and bad and complained about the fanservice because it was an easy target despite Bake having just as much.

This. Fuck, even Kizu is chock full of fanservice. If you're offended by it in any monogatari season you're better off just not watching the series at all.

Wasn't Kizu done by a different guy than normal? Also the point of the Kizu movie was for it to have a totally different feel anyway.

Getting 150minutes of the best quality monogatari we've yet seen helped the experience quite a bit.
Imagine if it had been some shit like Kizu that you have to wait forever to see the next part?

please learn English before posting on Sup Forums.

Style and direction are the worst things about it, another company should've adapted it instead. Only good thing Shaft brought to the series was their great choice of VAs.

Crab a shit.

>actually think the art style and direction is good
>smoking image makes me look smart

plebs from MAL reddit, Sup Forums loved it back when it aired

Sadly, monogatari has always been first and foremost a light novel adaption. Monogatari will probably go on for 10 more years, but there will be little araragi in it.

The story is still being written and it's moved on from high school to college

>Sales contradict my opinion of course
While I disagree with your opinion on Kizu and Owari S2, this is technically wrong, since Bake still holds the position as highest selling first volume within a certain timeframe while Owari 1 was only like 30k.

...

>2 hour long shot of kanbaru's ass
and it will be AOTYAY

Literally why is this allowed?

And why is there not more of it?

actually you aren't allowed to play baseball in a skirt.

But who was that other fucking girl at the end?

I want her to sit on my face

They would lose sponsers

>skipping nise

I hope none of you do this.

What a traitor. And yet he molests lolis. Get the pitchforks.

This. Who's holding back Kanbaru? I thought it was Ougi before it zoomed out completely.

>Monogatari
Isn't this a general thread, then?

At first I thought it was that girl she was playing basketball with in Koyomi dead, but then I went back and looked at it and that was ougi.

...

>skipping parts

I think I only liked Monogatari because of Oishi. His presentation was spectacular.
