Almost a decade has passed

No, you're just one of those oldfags with shit taste.

>anyone that disagrees with my opinion is "nu-Sup Forums"

I still love it but there is nothing left to discuss.

Probably should get around to watching Golden Time some day.

>still the greatest love story ever told

There have been tons of better love stories since then though.

Not the greatest but still pretty good.

clearly a sign it is time for another rewatch

No contrarianism here folks.

Why is 2000s anime so bad?

I couldn't make it more than a couple episodes because of how much I absolutely hated Taiga.

you started too late famalam. It's like trying to relive Ragnarok online current year.

Is there literally any other romance anime that managed to reach the heights of dramatic sublimity with its wonderful storytelling and soundtrack?

>baby's first romance

Just finished this series couple days ago. I liked it, some fags probably don't like it but it made me happy so whateva whatevs.

It's not shit taste, it's personal preference. People have experience things differently, that's just how it is. There's nothing wrong with that, some people find rom-com's like Toradora fulfilling and that's okay. I personally loved watching that shit.

Straw man tactics. Nice.

my fucking dude

Toradora aired when tsundere wasn't that mainstream so it was deemed "cute". Tsundere is just annoying nowadays.

>almost a decade has past

>they will take any attempt to reason with them and call it "nu-Sup Forums contrarianism" and circle jerk about how great it is because it's vapid enough for them to understand

>kyoanus and idolshit poster are of the same taste.
Not surprised tbqh

>comes to the thread to just stir shit up while not bringing up any points about how it was shit

Shit anime.
Taiga a shit.
Ami a best.

>Amifags still butthurt
why am I not surprised

Even objectively the "romance" in toradora is a mess.
At best it's a codependent relationship between a midget with a lack of affection from her parents and a kid who feels powerless watching his own mother fade away as she gives it all for his own sake.
Even in the end I fail to understand how their relationship could ever evolve in something stable.

They basically were in a relationship long before they realized it. I am not sure how you can't imagine what was shown.

TAIGA ON THE FRONT PAGE
also
>it's almost time for the yearly christmas rewatch of toradora

...

i honestly can't remember many good romance anime/manga. toradora was definitely not one of them. if you want the greatest love story, it'd probably be among one of the visual novels instead.

>it'd probably be among one of the visual novels instead.
We even know which one exactly.

Dont

>They basically were in a relationship long before they realized it. I am not sure how you can't imagine what was shown.

What he said, basically. Good shows don't always push shit in your face, you have to pay attention to appreciate the underlying meaning.

Nigga what. Toradora aired during the golden age of Rie Kugimiya and tsundere in general. If anything there was an oversaturation of the market.

This show sums up why I will never understand Japanese Relationships/Romance

They are dating for weeks, Kissing, Planning to stay together throughout school... and the big finale is him confessing his love?
I mean shouldn't that be the starting point of every relationship?

I liked the show though, it was very cute

>pic
Mio negro, patrician taste

Ami's literally the only likeable character. Taiga is a cunt. Pink hair has down syndrome or some other brain disease. MC is a bore and I forgot what glasses deal was.

>They are dating for weeks, Kissing, Planning to stay together throughout school... and the big finale is him confessing his love?
>I mean shouldn't that be the starting point of every relationship?
It's a middle-school relationship. They're "dating" not dating.

Contrarian just means having the wrong opinion doesn't it?

Japanese are different from westerners user. We use first name for literally every person in school, they only use them for lovers who agreed that its ok. Back when I was in school we also hugged each other every morning, at least most of the boys and girls. Something like that would be seen as absolute bonkers in Japan.

>I mean shouldn't that be the starting point of every relationship?
Not at that age. Not even in high school. You rarely are in love with someone prior to dating them, thats what the dating part is about. Figuring out whether or not the two of you are actually compatible. Love comes afterwards.

I understand that and I can accept that, it just seems very foreign to me because of my own culturual upbringing.
Besides their relationship throughout the show was very similar to my first relationships, with the only difference that we were of our mutual feelings, while in the show it's something that's almost....taboo? I don't know how to describe it, but Japanese Romance is always portraied as something very fragile with both lovers afraid of hurrting each otherr through confessing.

>using first names

I only call people "You"

>>nu-Sup Forums
Kill yourself

I wouldnt go as far as claim that telling someone that you love them is pretty close to a proposal to Japanese people, but anime would definitely have you believe that. Now I doubt its that extreme in reality, but the words themselves definitely have a significantly bigger meaning than they do in the west.

So when you called out for someone you gave them a (You)? How many people ended up turning around?

babby's first love story

Chuuni s1 was a better comedy than Toradora but that's all.

>at one point ryuji had all three of those girls desiring to slob on his knob
>ends up with worse girl

>>still the most overrated show with a cult following
This isn't Haruhi.

>nu-Sup Forums
Hello Sup Forums.

Haruhifags aren't even in the same league as Clannadshitters when it comes to overrated cult mentality.

I don't know, Clannad people seem to keep to themselves, and seem somewhat aware of how horrible the artstyle is.

>no true scotsman
Ebin thread faggot.

It's always been shit.

For real

I liked it, but Tsuki Ga Kirei told a better "love" story about an actual uncomplicated relationship.

some weeb correct me but I'm pretty sure Japanese people are way more private with their feeling/emotions because its rude to display them or whatever.

The biggest problem for me was that those retards were loved by their initial love interest, yet they fucked up to "help" each other and messed the whole thing.

Don't do it, one of the worst MCs ever

You'd still kinda expect the girl you're making out with to be aware of the fact that you might love her
I thoroughly enjoyed that their "Rivals" got immediatly blown the fuck out once they confessed.
No cheating heart bullshit, no Chad-Sempai trying to steal the girl.

>literally forced drama to force worst girl to win
>"b-but the title said it from the beginning!" In other words, it was shit from the very start.
Had it been a story where Ryuuji won Minori and Taiga was locked up for being a violent little shit, maybe it would actually have some worth as a story.

Even after just reading the basic premise EVERYONE should've known where this was going. Title or not. Just how stupid are you?
