Doesn't matter, Near only was able to do it because of Mello. My point is that Near was entirely outsmarted and was going to die until Mello did his self implosion shit, got himself killed, and brought Mikami out. Then Near used the Death Note to make sure everything went his way. That's why I like Near despite everyone else hating him, but Near didn't outsmart Light
