If a charismatic right-wing populist ever tried to seize control of the party he could be deposed at will by the cuckservative crowd.
On the other hand, its considerably easier to start a new party and get on the ballot in Canada than it is in the US - which effectively blocks everyone but Dems, Reps and Libertarians (who put in 40 years of work to get that) out. If we make some basic bitch name like the "National party of Canada" and just be reasonable (Stop immigration, stop foreign wars, gun rights, family-oriented economics, pro-natal, against late-term abortion, for free-speech), we could probably make serious in-roads.
Doesn't need to be a larp, just need to be genuine and cater to the 1/2 of Canada that's embarrassed of their country.

CBer here. Mainlanders have essentially abandoned us. People from Ottawa who have never even been to the rural areas and fishing villages of the maritimes make decisions on our oceans and waters without even inviting us to meetings, or asking for our input.
All money goes to the hub of the province here, Halifax, and all the money there essentially goes into immigration efforts and eroding the already mostly dead culture there.
I'd like to see more support into gaelic and gaeilge initiatives here and oh, I don't know, actual investment from the mainland into the island.
Honestly I think Cape Breton should secede though. The provincial regulations have only stunted any attempt at economic progress we have tried to gain. We need control over our own budget in order to prosper.
