>her

?

>What was the point of her?

Light was too perfect so someone else needed to come in to make the plot move along due to incompetence.

Just a pretty girl for Light to manipulate. And after seeing her right now I feel like manipulating myself.

She made the plot more interesting to spice things up. Just seeing L and Light would have been boring the entire way through.

>Too perfect
Too much of an egotist, the Death Note was practically retard proof. He HAD to get himself personally involved and on the front line to ever have a chance of being caught. If he had a shred of patience and restraint it would be impossible to catch him. But, that was never the point of the story. Light was an over privileged retard with a very juvenile black and white view of the world, the author never meant for him to be a sympathetic character, but that didn't stop retarded teens from doing so.

To fullfill Obata's childhood promise to Aya so that they can marry.

TO give me a waifu and because the writer and artist wanted to draw a cute girl.

Both L and Light were retards for doing what they did bit if Light just fought L within his room and L fought Light from the safety of a computer it wouldn't have been that interesting.

>you can't just kill all the criminals
That's where you're wrong, bucko.

even if Light got his way criminals would just start taking extra precautions to not have their name or face revealed. They do it in the mafia all the time/KGB/terrorism ect,

Maybe that kind of shit flies in your third world nation shithole. But here in the west and civilization we have something called due process.

to show how women ruin men's lives

She ruined less then what Mikami did

So the show won't be a sausage fest

Self-insert for girls.

Boosting lolita fashion

Yeah, the plot was kinda stuck at that point. Misa was a wild card for both L and Light: Light had a retarded groupie that could lead to his downfall at any time, and L was suddenly risking death, not even at the hands of Light, but at the hands of the second Kira.

>could have ended at episode 25
>hamfist an L look-alike-in

wow.

Third worlder here. With all the impunity all around us, it would be impossible to even get the name of any important drug dealer or pimp, I doubt you could kill anything but small flies, and considering the police messes up arrests all the time, I doubt that even having access to police files would help. You would have to kill almost all the police, for starters, since police is involved in drug trafficking, prostitution rings, and even street level muggings (there's officers who would literally borrow their guns to little shits to threaten people, it came to light because some idiots were stupid enough to shoot or lose the guns).

With the fucking Death Note it's not that fucking hard. Just use one of their lackeys to write their boss names in the center of a town square with their own blood.
Then just keep going up the fucking ladder.
The Death Note just stops you from making someone kill another person, you can still use the victim in other more creative ways.

>Retard proof
Not in this day in age, user. Maybe when the manga came out.
>Facebook keeps ghost profile one everyone who uses the internet. Even people who don't use the site
>Google collects data on everything
>Microsoft is increasingly making windows more data invasive
>Agencies are increasingly demanding compliance
>Most people willingly give away this information and don't know how to protect there data
The majority of people are getting caught in a few months.

"facebook keeps a ghost profile of everyone who uses the site."

Source- your ass.

They do, though. It may not be linked to your real name, but Facebook sure had an accurate breakdown of my interests when I was forced to join for uni.
>Hello, new user. Would you like to join the Nisekoi fan group?
>HOW DOES IT KNOW

>implying Light wouldn't install Gentoo

are you so fucking retarded that you don't know how to clear cookies and disable Google from sharing search data?

Fanservice and porn

>yfw it's implied Light fucks Misa

The editor most likely pushed for a love interest or eye candy. The mangaka and writer just worked around her, but the writer doesn't really have a high opinion of women that show intellect anyhow.

I'm on episode 12 and she's pretty jarring.
Not that I support Light but I liked how the show was flowing until this retard thot came along and fucked shit up.

>I don't keep up with the news
Your ignorance doesn't mean it didn't happen. It was in the news for weeks in 2013. It still comes up every time they cover Facebook in the news or cover social media and privacy laws.

> Sympathetic
But you're supposed to root for him. It's like a Shakespeare play where you know Light is evil and he has it coming but the ride is just too fun.

The difference between Light and someone like Iago though is that Iago doesn't have the pretense of being a righteous moral god because he got lucky with a god-artifact. L was far more interesting anyways.

Light's death was near.

>write their boss names in the center of a town square with their own blood
ok that gets you a name, what about a face? wouldn't have access to that unless you are right there in the thick of it.

I will never not get pissed off about this

I think most people were pissed about that honestly. N was just L but without the charisma and it's pretty obvious they made him resemble L for a "make-up" of L.

What I liked though is the show trolled L fans by killing L and then it trolls Light fans by killing Light. So if you want to delude yourself like Kira you can stop after episode 25 or be a fucking man and see it all the way through.

Light fags GTFO

Introducing Nate River was a slap in the face to Raito's fans. He earned his win. Let him have it.
Fuckfaces.

underrated

Sex

Provide a foil to Light's intelligence for the plot while exposing how shallow his idea of justice was.

Should have introduced N and Mello earlier. Even if just as mentions.

Does the manga do anything different from the anime? what's worth doing first?

To give otaku a reason to read the manga/watch the anime.

To provide the perfect crux for Light to use to both remove a competitor and his biggest threat. Something hidden in L's blindspot, proving he was unable to purely outsmart the man and had to use his knowledge of supernatural voodoo shenanigans to beat him. Light managed to manipulate a shinigami, a proxy extension of the powers he had with his own death note, simultaneously crediting his adaptability while determining L could only be brought down by a lack of information. Pretty masterful honestly.

I mean they could've made Misa a boy and have her shinigami be a shotacon, but the series was already a massive sausage fest and it worked better this way

Apparently her endgame was to just get cucked and then an hero offscreen.

So did she ever fuck Light while handcuffed L masturbated in the corner?

Death Note was literally shit till episode 11 when she came and saved the series, so I guess that the point was to made everything more interactive and not just spy vs spy bullshit.

>write their boss names in the center of a town square with their own blood
Why not just upload a photo with the name on the Internet?

I actuqlly only just started watching Death Note for the first time recently and was ho estly shocked to see L die like 12 episodes before it ends. Should i even bother finishing it?

Literally just to use the shinigami eyes for light and be a piece of eye candy

Ending is different, Near's character is slightly different, Matt gets more screentime.

Manipulate? She fucked Light over with her retardation

It's worth it just because Ryuuk is way more brutal toward Light at the end.

No, it's arguably better to assume L's death is the last episode

The fuck are you talking about? She gave Light everything he needed to kill L: a second Death Note, a pair of Shinigami eyes, and a Shinigami who'd die for her.

Light did that to himself by managing to end up as the sole suspect of what started off as a case with no leads despite having a killing machine that leaves no evidence.

The only reason why L even went looking for evidence at Misa's place was because she was associated with Light.

>Shinigami who'd die for her.
Misa is cute but she is definitely not material to give away your immortal life for.

The biggest difference between the anime and the manga is that the anime compresses the second half. Some people like the change, because the second half isn't very good and the anime burns through it faster. Others think it glosses over too many important details and ultimately makes the arc even worse than it original was.

Also, the anime had a really fucking high budget and Death Note didn't really have any elaborate action sequences to spend it on, so they sometimes over-animate mundane scenes to such a degree that it's hard to take them seriously. Whether or not this is a good thing is up to you.

Question: Chief Yagami died almost right after the eye deal, but not because of a death note. Is it safe to assume he was going to die soon anyway?

What are the japanese movies and netflix movie like?

she was worthless, but her deathnote and shinigami were useful

>got a confession out of Higuchi
>worthless

yeah, it always bothered me that they never explained why TWO shinigami were willing to die for her

Because Rems a huge cuck

>japanese movies
worse than the anime, but decent watch. The story ends after L dies, so there is no trainwreck with Near/Mello
>netflix
If you imagine the characters to be completely different characters who just happen to share the same names, then it's your run of the mill romance-comedy movie.

so the japanese movies basically end with Light winning?

you know, there is no way i could answer that question without spoiling the end, just watch them

ok thanks. I saw the anime and am on book 5 of the manga and iv'e heard the endings are different so i'm interested to see what happens.

Is the one shot special from shonen jump magazine any good? I didn't realize it was a shonen jump short at first because I tried looking for it everywhere and couldn't find anywhere to buy it.

I was there when only the one shot existed, it was kinda funny seeing how death note progressed over the decades.
The one shot isn't really good though, Ryuk is the only character that is the same, but the protagonist is pretty annoying and a wuss. There are no real mindgames or anything, so it doesn't really have anything that made deathnote what it is. There is also another item introduced in the one shot that i am really glad they left out of the series.
Basically, the one shot is just a quick introduction. The creators were just trying to find out if such a dark story could work in a shonen magazine.

are you talking about the eraser that reverses the deathnote?

I also heard they're was a spinoff in the form of a novel but I can't remember it's name...was it called L saves the world I think? is that any good?

>implying episode 26 onwards wasn't just the show pointing out how hypocritical Light is and how far ultimate power has corrupted him.

The first thing the show establishes after L dies is Light being bored as fuck after accomplishing his goals

Japs are autistic and need to have genki girls shoehorned into everything

Near > L

Even his theme music is much cooler

yeah, the eraser thing

it's L change the world, but that is the movie, i don't know about the novel. Novels for anime and manga and being printed left and right, and i don't read novels, so i don't know

There's the LA BB Murder cases which is pretty good that features Naomi and there's L Change the WorLd, which has a similar plot to the movie but isn't as terrible

Could've done it without the hamfisted L lookalike

It depends on how much you want to see everyone shit on Raito and see him die in a disgraceful and funny way. Not dissimilar to how Diavolo died in GioGio

For the 100000th time, you can only make someone do something they'd think up themselves. And revealing their boss' identity is clearly out of question. Also drug dealers never use their real names.

Misa is the best character in Death Note. She is pure and devoted and I want to see her smile.

>>HOW DOES IT KNOW
because you're a fat smelly weeb?

...

One-shot with Near as the new L exists as well.

It's as good or bad as the Anime. Well-structured, better written.
Light is arguably worse, but it's still fine.

Light and L were at a point that without introducing some new drama everything would be "no u".

this

To show how literally gay Light was.

>Light
>competent

Nice meme.

>Raito
it's Light.
it's also Lyuuzaki, not Ryuuzaki.
N - Nate - Near
M - Mikhael - Mello
W - Wammy - Watari
L - Lawliel - Ryuuzaki? no that makes no sense. Of course it's Lyuuzaki

>get buttmad when you can't refute him
classic

>Lyuuzaki
>trying to impose western naming conventions and Romanization on an objectively Japanese name
I bet you have only one translation for 仕方がない

I agree but they pronounce it "Ryuuzaki" (not with an L sound) in the dub, and it would be hard to explain to the average normie why "Ryuuzaki" would be pronounced "Lyuuzaki", so they might as well romanize it with an L

Fanservice

You are confusing a character's opinion with the author's. Takagi was a smartass edgy shitfuck, especially in the beginning. He just disliked people and that was it. And he wasn't repulsed by Iwase's intellect anyway, but by how proud she was of it. And that was because he was and also thought of himself as a carefree genius of a sorts. So in that regard he was what he claimed to hate.
Even if in general he was correct about Miho, he was incorrect on a personal level. Through which the author ultimately showed that he was indeed smart and understands how basic stereotype humans work, that he is not afraid to be direct about icky opinions, but also how wrong he can be when we explore more in details the person he talks about.

Since Light gigantic ego wouldn't allow him to get shinigami eyes but he still needed them they had to come up with someone else that would do it for him.

What was the point of Mogi?

Who's better, Misa or Takada?

She transfered the game difficulty from medium to hard.

Both were played by Light. But at least Misa wasn't a cunt.
