I really like this idea. If people had enough compassion and patience, a similar process might work if everyone raised and properly cared for 3 cows or more, depending on the size of the family. The cows would still be allowed to live to old age and natural death before being turned into leather and meat, but with the idea of everyone raising and caring for some cows all at once, there would be in theory enough to go around for everyone at all times, provided no one get's greedy from eating meat excessively without including any other food groups;
