I saw this scene at a really young age so It was mix of fear and confusion. The entire thing played out like a horror movie and is probably the first anime I watched save some stuff like pokemon.

When I rewatched some years later it was pretty nostalgic and comfy actually. Felt like hot summer nights watching anime on low volume so your parents don't find out. The scene its self was melancholic I guess, but it was this feeling that brought about the comfiness.

I'm watching a bit of the end of EoE to refresh my memory, but this stuff looks really damn obvious once you sit back and analyse yourself. I guess the what-the-fuck-did-I-just-watch factor mostly comes from the visual shock when you first watch. If you just focus on the audio/subtitles its really laid on thick.

It made me understand and love Asuka.

Sad because Asuka beat the crap out of them but in the end it doesn't even matter
