>The police allege that the pair had been doing this for a year as of July. The police also claim that the pair had earned up to 75 million yen (about US$687,150) through website ads from the scans.

It's the most popular comic in the world why are you surprised

>earned up to 75 million yen (about US$687,150) through website ads from the scans
>what the hell how is there so much money in this shit
Mhh......................

Do japs not block ads? Or do the guys get paid by page views so it doesn't matter?

squint eyes arent smart enough to block ads

Japs dont use computers, all they use are smartphones. How smart do you think the average smartphone user is?

I'm phoneposting right now and blocking ads, though I do see your point.

dumber than their phone

This got me wondering, who is the richest mangaka? Oda? Toriyama? Kazuki?

You can make it so your website doesnt show the content unless they unblocked ads on there

Not to mention that adblock PURPOSELY let ton of ads through

Kubo has a net worth of $52 million apparently.

People needs to learn about ublock instead of adblock. And on android is easy enough with Firefox and ublock addon, instead of Chrome.

Use an adblock that is still being supported and hasn't been bought by google. Also, I think noscipt can block that thing where they block you from the site, at least I haven't seen it in months.

Depends on the site. For example, webnovels.com or whatever the chink site QI owns has a method that prevents adblock/ublock/noscript/etc from doing anything to it and it'll block your ass until you watch the ad. However if you use a custom greasemonkey user script you can get around it, but the usual ublock and friends definitely can't.

How?

I can access it just fine with the adblock browser on my phone, the only ads I get are for products on the site itself which can hardly count as ads considering someone is likely going there to buy that stuff. I'm curious, though, I'll try it on my computer when I get home.

I should probably add that the ads I'm getting is just a banner at the top of the site and a list of books at the end. No popups or anything.

Wan piss fags BTFO

Are you telling me I can literally start writing poorly written shit right now and become rich?

Moral of the story is

release manga for free and profit off ads, cut out the middle man and kills piracy.

That'd be Rumiko Takahashi.

Oda earns much more than that but I agree with the concept, especially for less popular people

It's kinda like Hollywood complaining about piracy for movies that earn over a billion dollars at the box office

dont even need to draw detailed backgrounds and shit

There's money in it because it's not allowed.

They didn't just post One Piece. And no, OP is not the most famous in the world. Just Japan.

Serves them right

>Japs to technology illiterate they don't use a VPN when doing illegal shit

They were probably busted from electronic money transactions

One Piece is literally the best selling manga in the world.

People liked it so he made money stop trying to act like some type of manga connoisseur.

Yu Yu Hakusho is the best selling manga overall if you compare volumes directly

is it just me or have these been the least satisfying chapters in one piece for a long time?

like jesus christ, fight them or dont fight them, why the FUCK are they baking a cake...fuck me

Japs are so fucking greedy.

It's not like Oda or JUMP are losing that much money. They are so far behind the times.

...

I think they might be. I've been reading for over ten years now but since the end of Dressrosa I've just felt like I can't be assed to care about what happens. Maybe I'm just getting tired of the series.

>most popular comic in the world
That's HxH.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

i dont pay much attention, do most chapters have the same amount of pages or does it change? it feels like there are less pages

You realize that One Piece has a national holiday in Japan, right?

No, it doesn't.

If there is such a thing, it's the equivalent of Hallmark holidays in America (Grandmother's Day, and the like) or twitter memes (Goku Day).

Considering the shlock Hollywood produces nowadays and crap passing as books? Yes.

Who fucking taught you math?

It's not a holiday

>puts fingers in ears
>LALALALALA

jesus christ how embarassing

This, especially now that ublock origin is easymode. I've used umatrix for years, which is superior if you aren't easily overwhelmed, but last time I checked out ubo it was pretty good out of the box.

It's also endlessly frustrating how much they lie through dubious "projections". They search for torrents, count completions (or seeds + peers to be sloppier), and then multiply that by profit per sale and call that number their losses. Plenty of pirates still buy shit, and on the flip side, plenty of pirates never would. If the internet died overnight, maybe 5% of those people would go buy it instead, the rest will go without it because they were never your customers and never will be.

What day is it?

Whew lad, I don't know how you got through high school, to have sold as many millions of copies per volume as something like Slam Dunk, One Piece or Dragon Ball (over 4 or even over 5 million copies per volume), Hakusho would have to have sold over twice as many copies as it has (not even counting short series that have sold huge numbers which is stupid and why sales per volume is pretty meaningless in the larger picture)

it feels like he's doing more big panels that span two pages - makes the chapters feel shorter.
