This is the third time I'm reposting this but I'm still butthurt so I'm gonna do it anyway: this episode was terrible. It was literally "let's all pretend to be nice to the ugly girl": the episode, except, the worst part is not even that the characters are pretending to be nice to the ugly girl, it's that it's mostly THE PRODUCERS THEMSELVES doing it. They took an ugly girl, made her marginally less ugly, and made everyone go "HOLY SHIT LOOK HOW PRETTY SHE IS." It felt like everyone was sarcastically making fun of her. And then, to add insult to injury, they made her song fucking horrible, made it last 30 seconds, and didn't even give her animation like everyone else, just so they've made sure that the audience KNOWS that this fucking ugly little side character is "different" from the rest of the pretty girls. To add even more salt to the wounds, the producers know that Mimiko's song was shit and she's ugly, so they figure, "eyyy better at least put one real song in per episde" and make Lala and Yui the stars of Mimiko's own fucking episode. And FINALLY to top it all off, we have some girls ACTUALLY FUCKING ACKNOWLEDGE THAT SHE'S UGLY, but then it's brushed off because "lmao she has ear superpowers or something so it's okay."
In summary, this episode was just a glorified festival of insulting Mimiko and showcasing how fucking hard the producers pity Mimiko as well. It literally would have been kinder of them to just make Mimiko pretty, changed her face, and gave her a real fucking song. God damn. God fucking damn. They made her look like a fool, and a happy fool. She should have just stayed evil, she would have been more respectable that way.
And for the record, I'm not a Mimiko fan or hater, I'm just objectively observing this whole thing, and she did, objectively, get fucked over. The poor "special" girl last time (Garuru) was a retard done right, very VERY cute, cutest, even, but Mimiko was mistake. A God damn mistake.
