Wait how does Altair know ANYTHING about Setsuna? She was just created by her. Did she read all her online blogs or something? How is the situation different from Meteora and her dead creator? They both know pretty much nothing about their creator but Meteora doesn't pretend like she does. And how exactly does pouring thoughts of evil and curses at the world while creating Altair change anything? It's not like Altair was ever written down anywhere with a goal, she was a PV character and that's it. Audiences wouldn't know anything about Setsuna's intentions, there'd be no acceptance for that and she'd just be some character summed up by her fan appearances.

Yes that's pretty much it. The audience couldn't reference a Setsuna for acceptance to work with because she is not a person you can describe with words. Especially if you haven't seen them for almost a year. Which goes for every single person.

The immediate answer is that she recognizes her as a creation. That is not something she wants, because she knows the original Setsuna is gone and she can't replace her. But the following dialogue and the situation that forces her to make a decision makes her realize she is the one who she needs more than anything. We also don't know the extent of her information regarding how this miracle would work, since Setsuna is a creation created specifically by Souta the chances of her not being able to pull her from another fictional world to her side is also great, considering she could only work with existing creations and their worlds to pull them from.

We better get a comiket OVA or this show was just a waste of time.

God damn, this needs a copypasta reply at this point.

Altair could only summon popular fictional characters through the series, nothing implied she could summon a real person, especially one she didn't personally know. It needed a miracle combining the gods wanting her to have a good ending, foreshadowing of Setsuna's existence in a popular fictional media and a little reality warping for it to work.

She probably didn't try either, imagine if she failed and just created some dead doll that was not Setsuna or a flawed Setsuna that would instantly try to kill herself?

Would be great if the ending was at least uplifting, with the return of the creations gone. I'd be hella mad if I didn't see Alice and Selesia at least make an appearance for a farewell, or even better a time spent together without the worries of Altair of the ECF gone.

I think Altair will probably interact with Souta in the last episode. The prologue implies they will probably meet.

Charon is the real hero because he saved Altair from the bad ending. Selesia, Rui and Alice confirmed as the bad guys.
