But it is normal to see classes not your own as enemies. After all, the competition is war-like out there.
If mean within her class, then she isn't trying to make enemies. Horikita is academically smart, but she tries to do everything herself because she believes in her own ability and doesn't trust others except for MC. As a result she kind of appears mildly haughty. Volume 5 deals with that as an issue where she begin to trust in others and acknowledged her own weakness.
I hope for an anime movie
Horikita is good as a puppet ruler at least. Having someone as a leader, even if it's title only, can be advantangeous for the class as a whole.

eh? she's helped her classmates when in trouble, even tried in a misguided way in a couple other cases before learning how the wrong behavior with others is counterproductive. She's even learning to care for others. But she's not dragging classmates down to use as stepping stones unlike Kushida and those in other classes.
She has many issues but is slowly improving.
Horikita came third place for her year. Being that intelligent is the source of the pride comes from. In spite of that though there's a reason why she is placed in class D. To be fair, she is capable and execute plans fairly well, but more often than not MC has to help with hints there, or outright manipulates her to produce results.

Try the first episode. I dropped it after that because the series has a ridiculous premise. This wouldn't have been a problem if the series hadn't taken itself seriously. But it takes itself seriously. Koi to Uso has the same problem. Kakegurui has a ridiculous premise too but the series doesn't take itself seriously, it's basically a comedy. The premise doesn't bother me and I can enjoy the show.
