Why does Shaft fail?

Can't schedule for shit even when their lives depended on it. At this rate 3gatsu and Fate might as well be powerpoint slideshows.

If they do Fate Extra right they can save themselves, financially.

chinese hardsub bootleg when

>1,324,536,300 yen
Damn. That's, like, 5 dollars.

Humans can't understand the greatness of SHAFT's story telling

I admit I'm a bit dumb with numbers. So what would successful numbers look like?

I want to watch this

Literally 2deep4 nips. Shaft is only for highly intelligent people.

Good. They can save their budget for projects that actually matter like the second season of 3gatsu.

In the same period of time, Koe no Katachi got double the number with half the screenings, for comparison.

The movie was funded by Toho though, right? So Shaft didn't actually lose any money on this.

Even if they do Fate/Extra wrong it'll still sell like hotcakes.

Fatefags don't give a shit about quality.

Shaft should just make porn

They're already halfway there with monogatari

As long as the waifus are cute, it's fine by me. Fate and Shaft both have a good history of cute waifus, so it should be fine

That sounds fine, but they need to finish 3gatsu and Madoka first. Everything else has either run its course or sucked dick to begin with.

So it made roughly a fourth of Koe? But koe is not a fair comparison as it was already pretty popular not to mention the kyoanifags and muh bullying.

I'm sad daoko wasted a perfectly good song on it.

Madoka's dead, Jim. Maybe if they'd gotten on it last year, but they've waited too long.

Did you watch the movie?

>Flopworks

It's currently in 4th place in Japanese box office.

Then why Apocrypha ia selling like shit?

I was in japan a couple weeks ago and this was being advertised in every train and bus I was on.

Keit-ai with fireworks?

Remember when Shaft could be taken seriously?

Me neither.

I used to respect them until I realized it was Shinbo that I appreciated.

>The live-action Kimi no Suizō o Tabetai (I Want to Eat Your Pancreas) film stayed at #5 in its sixth weekend.
>I Want to Eat Your Pancreas
This is getting an anime adaptation too, right?

By Deen?

SHAFT is my favorite studio, their animation and dialogue draw me in the most. I enjoy it

SHAFT needs to be beaten with a ruler every time they spell something out with more dialogue instead of animating something to illustrate it.

Show, not tell, you stupid wordmonkeys.

The marketing was Your Name-tier. For what they're expecting this is a MASSIVE flop.

Fireflops had a decent first week but it's been slowing down badly, the bad reviews and reception are really hurting it. Still, with 300 theaters I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches 3 billion at the very least. Which will be somewhat underwhelming considering the popularity of the source material and all the shilling it's been having here in Japan.

Heard it wasn't doing great but this is actually worse than I expected.
Toho gave it the Your Name treatment and if they expected atleast 4 billion yen like they did from Your Name last year then this has to be considered a colossal failure

Meanwhile koe no katachi made $4.5 mill on 3000 screens in chinkland.
Not a huge hit.

So it's doing fine and KyoAnuslickers are just shitposting then?

I dunno, they were seriously expecting it to be as big a hit as Your Name? Even at the start of Hollywood's blockbuster era, they had to wait five years for ET to surpass Star Wars. And in this case Toho dumped it in Shaft's lap with minimal time.

And I don't know if they purposely tailored this film to ape Your Name, but if so, it would've been tantamount to United Artists expecting Moonraker to gross as high Star Wars.

>what is Apocrypha

Highest selling non sequel aside from pripri isn't too bad.

No I doubt they expected it to match Your Name's final total which is at around 25 billion yen or something, but they probably did want Fireworks to hit the 4 billion mark they had initially projected for Your Name because they gave it the same number of screens and marketing.

It's doing OK, nothing out of the ordinary.
