"Give me your tired, your poor

"Give me your tired, your poor
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free
The wretched refuse of your teeming shores
Send these: the homeless, the tempest tost, to me
I life my lamp beside the golden door!"

>>But...but... Travel ban! Build the wall!

TFW a Jewish woman is responsible for writing the poem that best epitomizes the ethic that built America.

Friendly reminder that she also lived her entire life in a gated community LMAO

>homeless
>come to america from australia
>apply for asylum due to anaphylactic reaction to wattle pollen.
>DENIED
>deported back to aus
>inhale once
>spend next 5 days in hospital on assisted breathing
>(((subscription medicine))) keeps me alive

I hate this place

ad hominem
attacking the person and not the substance of the post

Why should anyone care what some Jew wrote on a plaque? No one goes to see the statue of liberty for plaque that was added later. It is irrelevant but shills bring it up constantly as if anyone is supposed to care.

>Why should anyone care what some Jew wrote on a plaque?
Those words have become culture. Whether or not you care is irrelevant.

>No one goes to see the statue of liberty for plaque that was added later.
Never suggested that they do. Try again.

ITT: fascists do gymnastics, still can't form a logical argument addressing the topic.

>implying poems made by kikes mean anything

Did she?

damn what a shitty experience. that sucks, sorry to hear that.

hope you're doing better

That is a poem on a statue that the French gave to us. Has nothing to do with immigration law. Faggot

>yearning to breathe free
But what about those yearning for shariah law or totalitarism?

>some garbage a new wrote means anything
No

more ad hominem -- no substance

try again

ITT: White supremacists that pride themselves in being the legacy of the Roman Republic and Empire ignore Socratic logical methodology.

nigger it's a statue in Jew York not a law or a constitutional amendment

Okay, the poem isn't legislation, and therefore can be ignored.

I really doubt whoever said that quote would've ever imagined that we'd be importing muslms/africans. Back then it was widely understood that you couldn't integrate people like that. It's been forgotten by a country that rarely reads history beyond stereotypical cherry-picked anecdotes.

>Claims that an effigy dedicated to the principles of international republicanism and freedom has nothing to do with immigration.

Go ahead and think critically about that one, then get back to me.

BP
Came to say this

Every fucking time. Only a Jew would advocate for a country to take in the useless masses and rejects of other countries.

Open borders for Isreal. Just ask that to any Jew and they will tell you why that's a terrible idea. Six million wasn't enough.

It was only applicable when you didnt have a bloated welfare state

Show me where in the constitution it says this. I'll wait.

Unless you can point out where in the CFR you’d find that poem.

We're a republic, not a third-rate poetry reading.

There's nothing compassionate about an invasion of
lawless foreign squatters, nor of the racketeering
government hustlers who aid and abet these hordes
of xenophobic national socialists who brag of their
racial purity with squeals of "La Raza" whilst racially
cleansing "mayate" from their newly conquered territories,
you silly cunt.

Take down the statue of liberty.
Nobody cares about french architecture anyway.

>Statue originally inspired by muslim women. First designed to stand in Port Said, Egypt.
Try again.

>Your opinions are not legislation, and therefore can be ignored.

More ad hominem. See above.

ITT: White supremacists try to validate their ethnogenocidal hate ideology with illogical arguments.

I thought you guys were the legacy of Rome? Let's see some prudent dialogue.
Too hard?

What part of "yearning to be free" don't you understand?

His opinions aren’t legislature just like yours aren’t, just like mine aren’t. It’s a cute little feel good poem but at the end of the day holds no actual value and is little more than just empty words to make people feel all good and warm inside

ITT thread OP thinks a poem is legislation and ignores all counter points for maximum (yous)

ITT: a poem and an opinion are presented.

Everyone rushes in to defend white nationalism/supremacy with either ad hominem malarkey or fallacious arguments.

The travel ban and the wall are blatantly anti-American. We are a country built by and for immigrants and refugees. What Trump is doing is an absolute travesty.

>Not comprehending the difference between hard working poor people yearning to improve their life while living in a foreign country creating richness and either terrorists or idiots so not patriotic that they don't get documented despite living in California for 30+ years
We can't help you OP

>What part of "yearning to be free" don't you understand?
-claims the poem holds no merit
-uses the words of the poem to add merit to their own argument.

The closest thing to a logical argument I've seen thus far.

>straw man. never made such a claim. I'm addressing every point that i can get to. try again.

Gommie fug :DDD

Just a poem not law. We’re full fuck off

>We Wuz open borders n shiet
So you think that the Russian collusion narrative is bullshit, because Vladimir Putin has every right to have his voice heard in a US Presidential election. After all, there’s nothing that makes us “Americans” except lines on a map and a poem.

What part of
>one post by this ID don't you understand?

>the ethic that built America.
You're kidding, right? Our immigration policy that lasted until 1965 is what built the USA.

I said immigration law. Fuck off

Not comprehending the difference between legal and illegal immigration.

Please tell me how an undocumented immigrant has a good chance of gaining legal status?
Asylum/DACA/marrying a citizen all have low chances of working.

I know this is bait, but just in case this isn't what you're saying is absolutely insane. There are plenty of ways to get legal citizenship and people have undergone such procedures for at least a century, if spics and muslims are too dumb to understand how to file in an official document it's not anybody's problem but theirs

>Mass importing a new underclass that's known to be violent and kill people is a great idea..

>Just a poem not law. We’re full fuck off
Is there an echo in here? your opinion is not law. we are having a debate. try again.

Come again? I'm afraid perhaps your Luger tapped the keyboard while you were typing (shameless ad hominem).
But really, I'm not clear on what you're saying.

Claims that 43 years of racist immigration policy built America.
Posts picture irrelevant to conversation -- as if that will add validity to your argument.

"Immigration" vs. "immigration law" -- doesn't change your argument or my response to your argument.

We're a republic, not a third-rate poetry reading.

There's nothing compassionate about an invasion of
lawless foreign squatters, nor of the racketeering
government hustlers who aid and abet these hordes
of xenophobic national socialists who brag of their
racial purity with squeals of "La Raza" whilst racially
cleansing "mayate" from their newly conquered territories.

Have Snoop Dog explain it to you.

>

it is high time to remove that sign, or at least add a disclaimer sign, it is blatantly false advertising,

would be entirely fitting as a true reflection of America today to install a huge asterix sign next to that plaque with a wall full of fine print impossible to read

I ask for clarification.
You claim I am baiting you.
That's convenient.

BTW, on average across entry programs, less than 0.75% of applications are accepted. Doesn't have to do with understanding the paperwork. Doesn't even really have to do with being able to afford to file the paperwork.

Try again.

>I'm not clear on what you're saying.

>claims the poem holds no merit
>-uses the words of the poem to add merit to their own argument.

Where did I claim this? I made one post (the one you responded to).
Show me where in that post I made that claim?

Never made such a claim. Straw man. Try again.

It's not a matter of chance, user, it's a matter of fulfilling the requirements for citizenship. The world needs rules and laws so that all the kinds of different people can get along together.
There's a set of rules to apply for citizenship, and if you don't you're a criminal. They don't throw dices. If you are an incosistent piece of shit with a criminal record all across South America, the golden door is closed for you.

>a poem by a Jewish pioneer of zionism talking exclusively about other Jews because the author was xenophobic as shit is a guidance point for the morality of a nation
is this the final synagogue or are there depths yet unplundered?

The statue of liberty is in New York for a reason. It was the port of harbor for most all legal immigrants in the United States Between 1886 and 1924, 14 million immigrants came to the United States through New York. LEGAL FUCKING IMMIGRANTS.

Statue of Liberty instills a feeling of justice and law for all those who see it. They want to become Americans. Creeping through the desert like a Coyote stealing hens is the antithesis of being American. A wall will instil a feeling of "FUCK RIGHT OFF AND TURN AROUND."
And thus, "Come through the front door, asshole."

yes...
youre getting it
we will happily accept hard working well behaved able bodied white Christians

everyone else: no

what does it matter?

Fair. I assumed you had chimed in previously. My fault for making that assumption.

Correct me if I'm wrong -- we are both asking the same question:
why should "yearning to breathe free" only apply to some and not others?

why would admitting properly vetted individuals preclude any one person from "yearning to breathe free"?

Why does it have to be a zero-sum thing?

No you didn't claim a singel thing, you just wrote a lazy as fuck thread start with a lot of implication so you could get easy (you):s.

Whatever you're claiming it's refuted in this thread before, sage this and let the thread die.

Amazing poem,
>WE SHOULD SEND A COPY PLAQUE TO THE GAZA STRIP

NIce bait

"We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children."

>B-b-but... diversity

Did you have a point, faggot?

Destroyed*

Iftfy

Poems are not policy

Besides, I don't see "open your borders, allow unlimited illegal immigration" anywhere in this poem.

>Seeing the Statue of Liberty makes you american
Imagine being this much of a boomer

World politics have changed a little since 1886.

Read some history, and then please tell me again how everyone coming in through Ellis Island was legal. It's not my responsibility to educate you.

Ps: you've got a little bit of anger in there, buddy. try relaxing -- it's good for your health.

Agreed. People with criminal records should not be admitted. Never claimed otherwise.

Thought experiment time:
>The economy of your home country collapses (perhaps directly or indirectly due to US intervention, but that's irrelevant in this example).
>Inflation skyrockets, you spend every penny you have trying to feed your family.
>Violence erupts.
>Are you going to wait to have your [asylum or otherwise] application denied year after year? (provided you even have the funds to put together an application.
>No. You run for your life -- protect your family. >Go anywhere that can take you. Anywhere you can provide for your family.

Result of thought experiment: such an immigration system is inherently broken.

Return to Sender.
Fuck France its a trap.

No reaaly she has a dick.

>golden door
Aren't doors attached to walls?

You are making some major assumptions in assuming the words of the jewess' poem reflect the mindsets of Americans towards immigrants, have ever done so, or reflect "American culture," whatever that is. Nations are not "anyone who applies can be a member" clubs, and it's their perogative to collectively decide who's allowed in and under what conditions.

Listen folks.

You can repeat yourselves all day long -- continuing with ad hominem, straw man arguments. Espousing ethnogenocidal hate ideology.

I very earnestly tried to address all the comments here. Thank you to those in this thread who attempted to debate.

I've been keeping this up for almost two hours now -- I'm going to go have a sandwich.

Just keep this in mind:

I'll leave you with my honest hopes for good will and health to you all.

I'm going to go with libshit logic and say that was a long long time ago.
You know much like libshits say that the constitution (and especially the 2A) is antiquated...if you can claim that the 2A is only for muskets, then I can claim the inscription on the Statue of Liberty is only for Europeans.

Fuck off Reddit scum.

>Words written on a statue given to us by *drumroll* THE FRENCH

Look at how well this policy is working for France

>Why does it have to be a zero-sum thing?
It's not. My understanding is that your president has no designs on people who wish to move to your country through the proper channels.

never made a claim about the 2nd amendment.

i think many of our magazine-fed semi-autos should be regulated like we regulate SBRs and suppressors. fund the ATF better so they can keep up with increased applications for Tax Stamps/investigation. Legislate requirements for QI, process improvement, etc so people don't have to wait a fucking year for their tax stamp -- like i did on my supressor.

Which magazine-fed semi autos meet that requirement? I don't know enough to say with certainty. That should be debated. That's for a different thread -- different day.

Imma go eat that sandwich i was talking about.

peace out

but that's for another thread.

The plaque isn't a law and is not in the Constitution.

Also, why do you want wretched refuse?

You never provided a topic to address. You simply quoted an irrelevant poem. If you're suggesting we follow the poem then that would be retarded, taking in a bunch of non-whites who are even in shitty condition for their own country will make us worse off overall. Then again you are trying to destroy the US, not strengthen it

It implies she never lived by her principles nor had the life experience to convince others of how a country should really be administered you twat.

"Give us your low IQ, your criminals
Your cheap labor yearning for corporate masters
The wretched refuse of your teeming shores
Send these: The failures, the corrupt, to me
I destroy my nation against my Founders requests!"

>Boy that America sure fucked up my country and hurt my people
>I wanna go live there!
>Hey fellow Americans, I'm uh... Totally on your side!

Fuck you and fuck your kike poem.

>Those words have become culture.
The tens of millions of people who elected Trump said otherwise. MUH PLAQUE means nothing. You lost.

>Those words have become culture.
Build a wall,
deport them all

Those words have become culture.

>As part of one such effort, an auction of art and manuscripts, poet Emma Lazarus was asked to donate an original work. She initially declined, stating she could not write a poem about a statue. At the time, she was also involved in aiding refugees to New York who had fled anti-Semitic pogroms in eastern Europe. These refugees were forced to live in conditions that the wealthy Lazarus had never experienced. She saw a way to express her empathy for these refugees in terms of the statue.[82] The resulting sonnet, "The New Colossus", including the iconic lines "Give me your tired, your poor/Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free", is uniquely identified with the Statue of Liberty and is inscribed on a plaque in the museum in its base.

A poem by a famous writer at the time

Has nothing to do with legislation or intent

what a dodge, that wasnt even an adhominem, he just called new york jew york. how about you address his point instead of deflecting it?

She didnt live according to her kike fucking principles you stupid faggot. Good for the goy, not for the chosen

>keeping the niggers out

It was talking about Europeans you dumb fuck, not shitskins who commit disproportional crime and huddle in ghettos

That poem was written by a communist. Any who embrace it belong in Gitmo.

nice story bro
