Pripri can be anywhere from 6/10 to 10/10 depending on the ending, but I'd say even just the cute spies doing cute things moments make better anime than aho girl.

Not even a chance. The characters are mostly flat except for a few quirks and the storytelling is extremely overt and told in a boring way. There's nothing clever despite it being a spy story, and the animation and action are only very sparingly good.

I think the point of the series is that pretty much every character is dumb in one sense or another, and how Yoshiko's antics only aggravate things further.

In the manga, not yet. Ruri and Akkun have made some progress, though (IIRC Ruri had an exam which she didn't fail, and Akkun finally got a 100 in an exam).

I'm not complaining about pacing, I'm complaining about the story as a whole. I just haven't been able to give a shit about the main loli and the robo shota and whatever they're up to. Her motivation to go down the spooky death hole is pretty much just "muh mom", which is only acceptable if you're Todd Howard. Reg has absolutely no business being there, but I guess he doesn't remember if he had anything better to do so it's fine. Because of that all the episodes feel like disconnected stories and it just doesn't really make me want to watch more of it. The other problem is that slow pacing is actually an issue if you've only got 12 episodes, there's no way they're gonna deliver any kind of satisfying end to that.

They're not though, all of them have their distinct personalities, fleshed-out backstories and they all interact with each other in interesting ways. The character design is on point too.

Well, there's nothing I can say to that except for "nuh-uh", because I didn't find it boring at all. I think even the sort of side stories, like the laundry episode, were interesting to watch, even if they didn't really move the plot in any way.

But you see, user, the show is a clever show about a stupid character. Not a stupid show. It's not a deep commentary on the human condition. It's just a well-timed, exquisitely acted comedy with no aspirations to do anything but be ridiculous and its only challenger right now is itself...which it tops almost every episode.

Btw anyone who says it's just one joke over and over about "look how dumb she is"...the jokes are not complex yet they still went over your head. Yoshiko being a moron is a framing device, not a single, repeated joke. The show is about other's reactions to her as much as anything else. When the joke of how stupid she is does get emphasized, it's always in a different, increasingly ridiculous way. You know her idiot savant behavior is coming, but you never know how or when and that timing and 100% commitment to the premise are fantastic and the buildup always pays off.

There is an overall theme though, which is pretty much simply how her mix of stupid combines with her impressive talents in new and horrible ways. It asks the question, "how bad can this situation get worse?" then answers.

And yeah, the rest of the characters are all uniquely golden and their completely varied responses to Yoshiko are fantastic. Compare Ruri's to Akun's to the gals'.

If you cannot grasp these concepts, you are behind Ruri and she is probably better at school than you.

It's co-ATOS alongside Tsurezure Children. It's only fair since their combined runtime equals a full-length show.
