One Piece gone downhill for a longtime now

How did one piece (anime not manga) become one of the best anime to one of the worst?

I used to love this anime with a passion but now I cant stand watching it.

toei

The greed of Toei. They essentially the McDonalds of anime.

And it's also the fault of the people. They keep watching this shit. They really don't complain. So if they don't care, why should Toei? They're fine with eating shit so Toei is giving them shit.

Totally agree everyone should boycott toei..

One Piece was never one of the best anime.

i can't force myself to like one piece.
just reached the Summit War Saga but i find this shit so boring and uninteresting.
i am a pleb, right?

people thinking toei calls the shots

Early Dragon Ball Super used the same formula. I really enjoyed the OP anime up to the end of Drum.

Opinions...

Summit War, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Skypeia and Alabasta are the bet arcs

Who calls the shots then? oda?

It is obvious, they already caught up with the manga. They can't do anything but to stretch episodes.

People bitched enough about this and it got fixed to a watchable degree. One piece has always suffered the same type of treatment but gets away with it way more than super did.

One Piece was always budget as fuck. Like any other Toei show. Stop shilling your eceleb garbage and DL the first episode right fucking now. It's the same trash. Oh but it's also censored.

This, the pacing is absolute ass.

>They can't do anything but to stretch episodes.

There are still several of the cover stories that haven't been animated.

I really liked it until they started doing 1 chapter = 1 episode with 10 minute recaps following the 5 minute intro.

Watch One Pace

Watch Naruto, it is clearly better.

you grew up

people were complaining about DBZ Super, I don't think anything gonna change ever

I find it hard to belive that you went so far in the series without liking it.

>I used to love this anime with a passion but now I cant stand watching it.
Time to read the manga

This. Its a boring fucking drag. They should (have) switch to seasonal format by now. Let him draw a year of manga and then do 12-18 ep season over the summer (or any other quarter really) to make it bearable to watch.

Are you mentally challenged?

That thing where they stretch episodes never fails to trigger me. For example, Luffy's King Kong Gun vs Doffy's attack. In the manga, Luffy simply powered through Doffy's attack and instantly knocked him out. In the anime, to stretch the episode, they put in like 5 minutes of Doffy and Luffy's attacks going at each other equally until Doffy got beaten. If anything, that made Luffy look really weak in the anime. Same thing with anime Marineford. They made Marco look like he's Admiral tier by extending his fights with Akainu. In the manga, he failed to do shit and just got rekt by Akainu.

visually, I agree.
But story-wise still the best thing to come out of Japan.

Caesar clown vs luffy was the worst offender.for this shit.
>manga
>Luffy BTFO clown man in one hit

>anime
>long, drawn out tug of war with Luffy struggling in a 10 minute clash before Ceasar Clown gets blown away, which doesn't even make sense considering Luffy would lose all momentum

>best to worst
One piece anime has always been shit since episde one.
I never liked how they did the anime. Manga is 1000 times better than that garbage

Exactly

these

Ignorant fags, OP anime budget is shit from the very beginning, the first arc I saw is Skypiea, and thought it was shit, but it was more entertaining than nardo and blech, because of the directing, adults can relate.

Shueisha are the ones who're calling the shots, they paid Toei to advertise their own products, Toei will animate their products base on how much they gave, OP and DBS budget is on 100k - 150k per episode, 50 episodes per year, BNHA got 200k per episode, and 24 episodes. Shueisha knows how popular OP and DBS compare to BNHA, and Shueisha wants OP and DB have a whole year exposure every year with no breaks, they will lose a lot of money if they stop, OP suffers the most cause of the pacing. Toei owned the OVA, specials, and movies, and Precure, those projects have no strict budget restrictions, and all of those revenue goes to Toei. Also Bandai for toys and games, half of the revenue goes to Toei.

>one piece
>directing
You haven't seen proper directing even once in your entire life buddy

Didn't said the directing was a masterpiece, I said, adults can relate to OP not just kids and teens because of the directing, they direct OP like a Japanese variety show on the comedy parts, and nip soap opera on the drama part.

agreed
the manga is better

>because of the directing, adults can relate.
And I will repeat. You haven't seen proper directing even once in your entire life buddy.

You secretly like it but are aware of all of its faults. Congrats youre not retarded

>user writes entire paragraph
>retard gets pretentious for disagreeing with one throway point that adds to the whole argument
get your head out of your ass

Cause someone crunched the number and found out that this is bare minimum of effort and money they had to put into each episode while still maintaining their current ratings. As much as we complain about the anime being a watered down version of the manga, enough of One Piece's quality parts show through that people still find it interesting. It essentially has to be entertaining enough to hold the attention of people that don't feel like shelling out the extra dosh for volumes or weekly mags, while not being so bad they drop it all together.

I think we have to accept that the anime is a bust by now. What we really need to be hoping for is that there is enough interest in One Piece after in concludes that they will make a One Pie Kia.

>Caesar clown vs luffy was the worst offender.for this shit.
If we're talking about pacing ruining a stories tone, then Fishman Island is number 1 by a mile. The manga makes a huge point that they could beat Hodie's ass any time they wanted, but they needed to actual think about who they do it so they don't inspire more hate.

Itll just be a conglomerate of "Episodes of".
>episode of east blue
>episode of grand line entry
>episode of alabasta
>episode of skypeia
>episode of going merry
>episode of zombies
>episode of shabondy
>episode of paramount war
>episode of timeskip
>episode of fishman island
>episode of punk hazard
>episode of sabo
>episode of law
>episode of zoo
>episode of baking
>episode of kaido
and so on

Bleach was one of the better ultra-long runners anime.
Certainly it had it's moments and stretched episodes, but it was never even close to being as bad as OP is right now.
Of course this came with a massive price:
humongously long filler arcs that often went on for over a year.
They were usually enjoyable enough to follow, but it was one of the most extreme use of filler I've ever seen.
on another nore, the Bleach animu also ended when the mango should have ended, in exactly the right way

Whom are you quoting?

I've watched the most recent one. It was awful. I forced myself to finish it. Had maybe 2 seconds of total animation

Luffy's past one and Nami one were quite nice.
I should watch the newest one already.

What, did they make it like Inferno Cop?

>>on another nore, the Bleach animu also ended when the mango should have ended, in exactly the right way
I agree. Fullbringer arc was so much like old-school bleach it was really neat. It set-up for that Karin spin-off we never ended up getting

It's Toei animation. Do I really need to go into detail? Even if they finally did start with a proper chapter 1 adaptation it was just shit. You can't really expect much out of a recap episode but still it looked like shit.

I thought it was good. The one thing I didnt like is that skipped over minute details that lessened the impact of the fights. Like we didn't see Jango hypnotize Luffy or hit his head with that blade. But the Kreig stuff was great.

>I thought it was good.
Well you can't fix bad taste

toei is shit
outsourcing to gooks and chinks
no one cares anyway
everyone just reads the manga

This is the Toei curse. There are plenty of long runtime anime that don't suffer from slideshow animation (fairy tail, hunter x hunter). The problem is with the company itself. They are money grubbing assholes that would rather put minimum effort into their work to make the most profit than create something truly meaningful.

Then just read the manga. Far better visuals, and even the story is better due to it being better paced and not having filler.

You can't even read, fuck off.

it?

I think they owned DBGT, it's decently consistent.
read here newfags

>OP and DBS budget is on 100k - 150k per episode
This is complete bullshit and you know it. 100k in a single week means more than 200 animators worked on it, not even including seniors and directors.
If that was the case OP's animation would be breathtaking, regardless of the short timespan granted to animate.
We all know that's not the case. We all know that One Piece is one of the worst animated anime in the industry's entire history. An Average seasonal slice of life is better animated than One Piece. Not just the pacing, but the colors and key animations alone are garbage.

If they are really spending 150k the likely breakdown is that 100k of it goes to the voice actors who siphon the entire budget, kinda like the simpsons, 40k goes in various exec bonuses, marketing research and advertising, 10k actually goes to the animation and directing.

>one piece
>directing
You haven't seen proper directing even once in your entire life buddy

I used to love it aswell
They need to fucking stop doing 52 episodes a year, so that they can adapt more than 1 chapter of manga per episode

...

>mfw all those 'sakuga' webms uploaded to sakugabooru

The One Piece anime was always bad though. Even as a kid I never understood why early Naruto and Bleach had better animation and coloring, expanded fight scenes, and even some enjoyable filler while OP from the start just streeeeeetched material endlessly with reaction shots and panning over still

At roughly same point in the shows production. I know One Piece was more faithful animating Oda's panels, but whats the point in adapting it if you aren't adding anything?

>I know One Piece was more faithful animating Oda's panels
I honestly doubt it. They couldn't even get the art-style right

Its funny because McDonalds actually sponsors Toei series like Precure and they give them some decent budget to work with.

What are some long running shonen adaptations that you consider good?
I think that YYH and HxH (both 99 and 2011) are really good.

I don't think you know what budget is. Or that it has little to do with cross-promoting

Why is there a female yusuke? Why is Hiei such a manlet? Why is urameshi in this shot?

No, I went through looking for examples and most were so short because they stick to almost exactly what Oda drew in fights. Gin is one that easily could have been expanded a bit and yet all they did is pair freeze frames together

>How did one piece (anime not manga) become one of the best anime to one of the worst?
by recruiting cheap animators from philippines

But length has nothing to do with a panel. A panel shouldn't take more than a split-second either way.

You don't really get how TV works, do you.

I get it alright. Most anime airs on TV.

No, it was stated in the past, and they announced an upgraded of 150,000. Toei always paid their veteran seiyuu, they're rich, those seiyuu will become more expensive each year, the budget on commercials, digital recordings, events etc. are paid by Toei, it's not included in the contract of Shueisha Bandai, Mcdonalds or any other sponsors. You don't know how big Toei is, they can produce a total of 250+ episodes and 3 - 5 movies annually.

You don't know nothing.

Then why did the first episode of One Piece look like utter dogshit?

Mcdonalds bought the license of Precure ip for their happy meals, even Netflix bought the whole license, and that's a big deal.

You can't even see this kind of expensive toy commercial in any anime, not including 3DCG.

Not really.

onepace.net/

OP first seasons budget is 100,000, watch Girlish Number reference on 100,000 budget anime, it's worse if they don't recruit low-paid amateur flips and gooks for outsourcing.

Fuck off.

Budget has little to do with how anime looks. Most of a budget is spent on advertising. And talent out-weights budget.

This.
When will you fags understand that good looking anime isn't achieved just by throwing money at it. One Punch man had an average budget and still looked good thanks to talented animators and time.

I would use Moonlight Mile as an example myself. I wouldn't say it had a budget. But every scene, without exception, manages to look awful animation wise.

Do you know about wich time they started adapting this way

This is bullshit, you don't even know how cheap 100k budget is. OPM animation is crap most of the time outside of those action scenes, those are made by talented freelancers, and they were paid accordingly. Compare anime movies and TV anime newfags.

>OPM animation is crap most of the time outside of those action scenes
It really isn't and action scenes take most of the screentime anyway.
>Compare anime movies and TV anime newfags
Anime movies don't look better just because of muh budget, they also look good because they don't have the same time restraints tv anime has. OP doesn't looks like shit just because of muh budget, but because they have to churn out an episode every single week and still be careful not to surpass the manga.

>One Piece is shit
wow, what a revelation

The manga is shit too. Written by hacks for hacks.

That's because Hunter x hunter was always the superior manga.
