Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World - The Animated Series

>Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World - The Animated Series
Can I get a quick rundown on what's that? Is it season 2? Why does it look bland, generic and cgi-filled as fuck?

It's a remake. Some stories will be the same as the previous anime, some will be new content from the LNs.

>Why does it look bland, generic and cgi-filled as fuck?
It's a reflection of current state of industry.

>Why does it look bland, generic and cgi-filled as fuck?
Because no scan bars, that's it

>Because no scan bars, that's it
I won't watch LotGH without yellow subs and I sure as shit won't watch Kino without scan bars.

I suspected as much. Shame.

There's probably an overlay for scanlines.

The original series looked bland and generic too.

Anyone who doesn't think this is a huge upgrade from the old Kino is delusional.

Not really, it had its own style.

money don't grow
on money trees

This, at least the new one has better style and is a bit nice to look at.

Name ONE(1) show that looks like Kino's Journey.

Do you think we'll get any fan service?

any hideous early 00s anime

Maybe if Kino visits Rape Country

okay great please do not watch it

Is Kino sexualizable?

Why not? She's meant for people who like boys but don't want to be called gay.

>people think this garbage ever looked good
Only a pretentious westerner would be upset they dumped this. Fans of the novels at the time were upset they shat all over the original designs.

b-but muh scanlines make it look so unique and smart!

nu-Sup Forums everyone

I bet you thought Aku no Hana was super smart and unique too.

>tfw it has fanservice and makes all of anitwitter and neogaf lose their mind

It got SHAFTed.

You scared me for a moment that it would actually be done by SHAFT.

If only

...

The second season is actually adapting the artstyle of the recent LNs, so I don't know what you are going on about.

Yeah, people have been asking for a new series of Kino where she doesn't have a head like an orange for ages and now we're getting one, everyone wants orange-head kino back.
There's no winning.

It's only a few shitposters who want potato Kino back. Some can't get over their nostalgia, most just want to feel like an elite oldfag.

Old kino looked bad, but picked an especially bad frame on purpose.

New Kino design looks slightly better, but still bad. The visuals overall are much better according to what I have seen in the trailer.
Am still sceptical about the new Kino.
My fear is that Taguchi(director) will mess up.

Gakuen Kino anime when

That's all fine and dandy, but you guys should post more Kino lewds.

Sup Forums died along with our lord and saviour Lelouch user.

It's just dumb fake oldfags wanting to appear high brow for liking the old "original" artstyle when they are just actually painfully ignorant and stupid.

t. r/a/nime

...

Can't wait for it lads

...

Man that episode was the shit.

At least 2017 is better than 2007.

Lelouch ain't dead tho

don't even pretend that the biggest issue everyone had with the original show wasn't the absolutely potato tier character designs and bland early 2000's digital mud coloring

R3 is a mistake.

I like poatoes and I like potato Kino. She was cute.

...

Keep the lewds coming, lads.

...

...

this thread made me realize kino isn't a cute shota and I feel so betrayed

>no scanlines
>Kino doesn't look like a potato

...

Don't worry, it's not like reverse traps are straight.

...

...

>people actually want the most generic designs possible
Well I'll be damned, and they say Sup Forums is elitist.
Or perhaps this is elitism pushed too far?

I'll take generic over shit.

There is literally nothing wrong with potato faces.

Potatoes are only good as food.

You haven't lived enough, kid

People have been bitching about the potato character designs since 2003. Being ugly doesn't imbue it with more "artistic" sensibilities.

Maybe because I wasn't here in 2003, I never found the style ugly. It has its charm. It also reflects the bleakness of the story well. I don't think it would be remembered like it is to this day if it didn't have this special artstyle that belongs to nothing else.

I quite like the low budget early digital anime look.
Or maybe that's because I only only attribute it to good shows.

...

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised.

>remake

For what purpose?

Probably to increase LN sales. Why else do these adaptations get made?

They technically are.

You're forgetting the era we're in girl(male) isnt gay to quite alot of people

Not exactly sure why that is not considered gay since it's a man, not a girl.

>disliking the early 2000 coloring
Kino had shit coloring but that has nothing to do with early digital coloring.
The majority of people that have issues with the coloring are newfags who started actively watching anime after 2008.

If it looks like a girl its not gay. I'd assume most people here if you showed them a picture of Pico and they jerked off and came to the realization it's a boy, they'd preform muh mental gymnastics and nono it looks like a girl so it's not gay. I can only hope it started from one guy being retarded then enough people caught on and started to believe it for real It's funny tho. Considering people would say a reverse trap is gay even though it's pretty not. inb4 the picture of the bald dude with a vagina

He's a fucking anomaly.

Watch from the beginning

Is Kino kino?

VLC has that.

>Not knowing what Kino is

Actually kill yourself.

...

...

I always thought it looks like Fullmetal Alchemist with scanlines.

What is Kino looking at?

Your dick

Bad food.

unironically yes

Correct.

Kino is the only anime I have hopes for next season, I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Just watch Shojo Shuumatsu if you want potato faces and TRAVELLAN

>reading comprehension

Yes

Excuse me?

>looks up what Lerche made prior to Kino
>Re: Hamatora
>Kuzu no Honkai
>Assassination Classroom
just kill me

>Kino (2003)'s director also directed Serial Experiments Lain
>Kino (2017)'s director directed the Persona 4: Golden anime and two Persona 3 movies

People can meme about "muh potato head kino, muh different from original designs, muh scanlines" all they want, but the old Kino had some pretty nice directing which makes it still look good to me today. Scanlines never really bothered me, nor did the character designs. I don't have any problem with the more faithful LN designs either.

At least she doesn't look like a boy now.

The persona 3 movies were good, though.

The directing is great, Nakamura is great at that.
Just imagine his direction with the fantastic LN art style though.

>People actually prefer this crap
Fucking mexicans and their nostalgia bullshit.

The magic of the original run came from the director's sense of pacing and tone to even out the writing, alongside a pretty good soundtrack. The artstyle seemed to be his last priority.

Kill yourself

So this is the fate of Kino threads on modern Sup Forums: rampant shitposting.
