Katawa Shoujo was at its best just after Act 1 was released, the hype was unreal and the amount of OC that Sup Forums was producing was some of the most fun I've ever had on this board. The COYA threads in particular were great.
Naturally the full thing didn't quite live up to what could have been, but that's less of a fault with KS itself and more to do with how much everyone hyped it up.
It was the first English made VN that was worth a damn, and still one of the best western made VNs.
