Why are American companies manufacturing clothing in China?

Our country will get fucked since the chinks buy iron ore from us and sell it for you guys, but I can take one for the team just fine. I don't deal in steel, have no money invested in it - nor anywhere else.
Will it hurt domestic manufacturers and make them move their factories elsewhere?
Jaxson Torres
Overseas gook slaves are more PC than American blacks
Liam Phillips
Slave labor, chink workers have almost zero rights, and when they retire the government "tells" them to invest their money on the chink market. The quality of their product is garbage, so they sell it for less than the production cost on other countries that need to obey real standards.

How is that? The global tariff is for foreign countries selling you their product.
To be fair, a lot of the quality problems are because of a lack of quality control by the companies that place the orders. Whenever you deal with 2nd-world countries you always need to send two or more people to constantly monitor the work, and rotate them out so that they don't go native. Otherwise you "get what you pay for".
Isaiah Martin
I remember this from somewhere before ... why do I have a nagging feeling this has been tried before?
Selling their steal or aluminum. That helps our steal and aluminum manufacturers domestically, but hurts any other domestic manufacturer such as car or plane companies, among others, that now have to buy more expensive domestic steal instead of cheaper foreign steal. They’ll pass on that increase in price to consumers or move their operations elsewhere to avoid paying the tariff
I love America. I love /ptg/. Just wanted to let you know.

Of course, she's not ready yet but she is doing diplomatic missions on her own, without having any prior experience. Trump is willingly facing accusations of nepotism to let her do that. Trump believes in starting at the bottom just like he did. He used to be a debt collector for his father's. He made his own sons do construction work. He's making her mop the floor and bring the coffee, figuratively speaking, fully expecting her to work herself to the top. At least that's my impression. Don't have any hard evidence.

China is not 2nd world, it's a slaver ship stopped into place, if any Chinese had the small amount of shame on their face they would ask for that people to be treated with more dignity. Where in the world have you seen workers stucking letters begging for help on products?

>CN will apply regulations of its own "if the tariffs' cost to China exceed $10 billion.
That's an interesting counter-offer, it doesn't have much in the way of teeth though.
>>“Steel and aluminum imports from Japan, which is an ally, do not affect U.S. national security at all,” Japan’s Trade Minister Hiroshige Seko told reporters in Tokyo Friday. “I would like to convey that to the U.S. when I have an opportunity.”
Japan was the only one that said the U.S. is an ally, while everyone else comes off as extremely butthurt. I wonder who's gonna get the best deal here?

Rather useless ones as well. He ignores her when it comes to important issues. I do not want her anywhere near the Presidency.

They're Jews. Their country is Israel which has big tariffs.
Completely agree. They've been our greatest ally for so long and they've suffered under globalism much like we have.
Brody Wood
According to PressSec the market reaction did not faze POTUS. “The president is still focused on long-term economic fundamentals. He is incredibly focused on the American worker. It's something that we have to have and something we need to have."
Jonathan Turner
That's the exact same argument made by the left that > if you deported all illegal aliens the construction price will rise, produce will be more expensive and your grocery bill will go up that by itself is a rehash of > if you free the slaves who will pick our cotton
It's failed in the very premise that society benefits more from low prices than by the overall economical benefit (for the locals) of a slight increase in price to ensure the wealth stays in the community.
