The Gohan vs. Cell fight was a goldmine of awful dialogue. Especially from Cell, who is supposed to be a quick witted, silver tongued badass:

Same happened with Frieza against Goku. Both he and Cell were icy calm and witty when they knew they had the upper hand, but once they started losing a battle they started freaking out.

Bitch that was nothing but walking and talking. Gohan literally hit Cell less than 7 times. Hercule hit Cell more than gohan did.
What because of one shitty transformation that made the fight great? Fuck no. Gohan and this entire Cell Games shit is overrated trash. Goku put on a far superior match with cell than Gohan. Fact.

What made the fight so great was that what the entire show had been building up to had finally happened.
Plus it wasn't dragged out like Goku vs. Frieza was.
I also liked how it wasn't just constant punches and kicks and energy attacks. Saved it from getting too repetitive.
But if this was gonna to be the FINAL fight in the entire series(FYI Toriyama never said he wanted to end at Cell) this was a total disappointment.
Plus how was this a build for Gohan when he literally didnt do shit the entire arc. never encountered 17or18 or any form of Cell. And had no motivation. Gohan's hero spot came outta nowhere.
