The basics are very easy, mastering it will take time and effort. WoT requires you to play predictively to succeed.
To be truly good you have to know how and where to move and position your tank (angling your armor, sidescraping, proper use of foliage to hide effectively, when to engage and when to run etc.). You have to learn the maps, and you have to know the specifics of any tanks you might run into at the tier you play at (effective armor thickness, gun damage and fire rate, mobility, weak points). The gameplay is slow, but you have a lot of vital information to juggle when deciding on a course of action. Committing to a bad move will get you killed, especially in a lightly armored vehicle.
Even if it all sounds good to you now, the sudden upramp in grind times after reaching Rank 4 may change your mind very quick. This is a freemium game, and the publisher really would really prefer having you pay your way into the higher tiers. WoT will suit you fine if you have wads of idle money to throw at it, or just an addictive personality.
