why are HxH shits the most unbearable of the shounenshits is it becuz the genuinely believe they're better than any other generic shounen

KI

GOD BECKY

Togashi isn't even capable of consistently writing a manga

why is hori's artstyle is fucking bland

Togashi can't write at all, literally. Maybe if he wasn't chronically ill there's an argument to be made.

LOOK KILLUA! I AM A PICKLE! I AM PICKLE GON!

LOOK KILLUA I AM A PICKLE I AM PICKLE GON

this was made by the my hero academia guy right? I like it very much

>why is hori's artstyle is fucking bland
He tried ripping off gainax/triggershit like the filthy westaboo he is.
I will admit his Simon knock off has a much better design than the original.
I think the freckles really add a lot of individuality to Deku's appearance and makes it stand out.

Araki until he moved to a seinen magazine.

OVERHAUL

...

ONE.

How is HxH not generic again?

How is it generic?

>main character who is usually cheerful got angry because of friend dying and transforms
>aura/energy nen premise
>dark mature death scenes for a shonen
>deconstructs shonen with philosophical dialogue

lmao

That's literally every shonen. Having edgy scenes and dramatic music playing in the background doesn't make something a deconstruction. It's even worse with HxH because it's pretentious but written sloppily with asspulls everywhere

Reading Konjiki no Gash at the moment, it's entertaining and distinctive enough though a lot of it is just battle-of-the-week stuff, so liking it is pretty dependant on how much you enjoy the characters and the writer's general sense of humor.

>main character who is usually cheerful got angry

Wow, like every shonen ever

>got angry because of friend dying and transforms

Wow, like every shonen ever

>aura/energy nen premise

Wow, like chi/chakra/spirit energy/ki,etc. so original. They explain all the fundamentals of it and the categories only for the battles to be incredibly simple anyways. What's the point of those long explanations if the battles are so basic and not that complex?

>dark mature death scenes

Wow, like every shonen ever. Seriously, every shonen has fucked up shit in it. HxH wasn't all that dark at all, watch more than 10 anime please.

>philosophical dialogue

Literally every shonen has characters spewing that verbal diarrhea. Although with Madhouse's animation HxH's presentation does make it seem deeper than it really is.

if you're still in battle-of-the-week stuff, you're not at the point where Gash hits its stride. keep going.

Gintama

HUR DUR MAL/ANN POSTER

>deku next to ichigo
Cute since they share the same birthday.

SUPER

xD

>asspulls everywhere

Nisio

Gon is literally Goku except gayer

I know I'm in the minority but I always found YYH and HXH incredibly shitty and overrated. To this day I'm confused why those two series are held in high regards. Then again I'm on the same board that likes Madoka and Boku no Hero Academia so

...

Jojofags are the most unbearable though.

>wow, like every shonen ever

which makes it generic

I find them overrated as well, but personally I enjoyed them both. HxH was a pretty good action manga before Togashi decided to turn it into a light novel somewhere in the Chimaera ants arc

Gyro is one of the only reasons I keep giving this slow as shit manga a chance. Togashi is 51 years old so he likely won't even last long enough.

Madoka has great designs, music, cool as fuck fight scenes, and good if inconsistent direction. It's praiseworthy even if the story isn't really anything to write home about. BnHA is generic but decent enough so that anybody who likes the genre can have a good time watching it. It also feels more childish compared to other battle shonen, so the nostalgia for saturday morning cartoons kicks in. I'm talking about the anime, I didn't read the manga but I assume it's pretty much the same.
HxH has absolutely nothing going for it.

>hori's artstyle is fucking bland
shit taste

JoJo part 4,5,6 are the uniques for 1990 decade, great story for a decade like 1990 when hxh it's not alive.

Shhh, these people don't need to know

>A magic genie with 0 consequences living unbeknownst to us for all of that time

>dragon quest coming out right when he starts to do chapters again

Besides O my rubber nen, how is he an assoull his power is consistent with the rules of nen

Zumou is right there in your pic, OP.

RUBBER

but muh nature of humanity

Kids with superpowers fight other people with superpowers

Is there anything worth reading in this demographic, or is it doomed to be shit?
I've tried all the main series and any creativity in them is devalued by awful dialogue, one-dimensional characters, repetitiveness, and Japanese "humour." These are also problems in seinen but there is a lot of good shit there to choose from.

Tanabe Yellow author of Kekkaishi and Birdmen
Hiromu Arakawa author of Fullmetal Alchemist and Sliver Spoon
Satoshi Mizukami author of Sengoku Youko
Norihiro Yagi author of Angel Densetsu and Claymore
Q Hayashida author of Dorohedoro (it shifted it publisher to a shonen magazine recently)

to name a few
