Would Bleach have been less shit if Kubo stuck to semi-realistic powers (sword fragments that fly, shooting beams, mecha, poison caterpillar, etc. ) as opposed to outright bullshit (power up when an accompanying child cheers you on, etc.)?
Would Bleach have been less shit if Kubo stuck to semi-realistic powers (sword fragments that fly, shooting beams...
Nah, Stark's ressurecion was cool. The fight was shit. But almost every page past "the heart" was a severe downgrade in quality save for a few short chapters like Ken vs Unohana, so Stark gets a pass.
>power up when an accompanying child cheers you on
Wouldn't most people work a little harder if a cute kid was cheering for them?
>as opposed to outright bullshit (power up when an accompanying child cheers you on, etc.)?
fuck you the superstar was awesome.
just wish we saw other quincy watching the fight cheering Mask on too. It would've been great.
How many of these threads are we going to have? The whole "Would Bleach have been better if..." discussion has been done to death already.
Nothing good ever comes from the current Bleach threads since shipping shit eventually takes over.
>sword fragments that fly
boring and gay
>shooting beams
Literally everyone complained about excessive beam spam as it is and you wanted more of it?
fucking retard.
>mecha
It has the coolest design but as far as function is concerned it'd boring and ineffective
>poison caterpillar
Slightly better but still boring
It's basically an inferior Purple Haze
It would have been better if they stuck to Anime ghost busting and focused on going to different places to bust different types of ghosts rather than make it into another battle anime
The rescue Rukia thing should have been the grand crescendo of the series and ended it on that after they globetrot a bit to bust ghosts
Damn straight, user. The monster of the week formula worked well, and it played well on the unknown horrors that is the hollows.
>It would have been better if they stuck to Anime ghost busting and focused on going to different places to bust different types of ghosts rather than make it into another battle anime
Wouldn't everyone just complain about it being an inferior Ushio to Tora clone then?
>Literally
Fuck off, Reddit.
SS arc was a mistake. That's when the series went full on shounen.
It would have been boring as fuck. The escalation was appropriate, but then it escalated again and again, and it became stupid and absurd.
Quincy arc was a mistake.
You just can't do chuunishit in a shonen maganzine.
that shit only work in LN/VN
I hope the previews for the second Narita novel start up soon. Those threads take longer to turn into shit.
The subgenre had nothing to do with it. Kubo is just incompetent.
>You just can't do chuunishit in a shonen maganzine
prisma illya and jojo proved its possible
When is it supposed to come out again?
The second novel is going to be released this upcoming winter.
somewhere between fall and winter.
I'm thinking december at the latest.
Well but I'm suggesting they do more in the way of lateral escalation.
They go see ghosts of varying specializations based on other cultures' woes or superstition
Most of stand abilities weren't as convulted as what we saw during that arc.
>its another "lets complain about what went wrong" Bleach thread
There is enough to fill thousands of threads user
>There is enough to fill thousands of threads user
What the fuck are you even talking about?
>Most of stand abilities weren't as convulted as what we saw during that arc
You're right.
They were even more so.
>They go see ghosts of varying specializations based on other cultures' woes or superstition
It would've been cool to see them traveling from country to country for hunting down hollows.
Bleach shit itself harder than anything I've ever seen.
Satan you're exaggerating like a dumb bitch. What was so bad about Bleach that everyone else already did?
The pacing, minimal asspulls, and rescue arcs too much for ya?
What the fuck does that have to do with my original post though? For the record, what I meant with my original post is that this thread is pointless because we've already had so many "what went wrong with Bleach" threads since the ending. These types of threads are filled with the same complaints, just worded differently. You guys are just beating a dead horse at this point which is why the IP count has lessened big time, there are only 11 different posters in this one. The only Bleach related threads to get a good amount of different anons are the ones that revolve around the novels because real discussion takes place.
I know Bleach isn't perfect to you guys but holy shit you're retarded.
>Most of stand abilities weren't as convulted
>I can blow up a timeline by turning a person into a bomb causing me to travel back in time!
>I can go in and out of parallel universes at will and kill people with the anti matter effect! Also nothing bad can ever happen to me because of this wall
>I can manipulate the concepts of everything by turning them into bubbles!
>not convoluted
>level 0 brainlets still don't understand that yhwach lost on purpose and this is all setup for the sequel
How about the plot that fell apart like a chinese mothercycle plus the dozens of dropped threads plus that every fight was asspull after asspull once we got to the Aizen fight? I loved Bleach up until that Aizen shitshow
>tfw it turns out the true purpose of the silver arrow was just to get rid of Yhwach's physical body so it could take control of Kazui all along
>so it could take control of Kazui all along
Where does this even come from? After the Yhwach encounter, Kazui was the same in terms of personality.
Bleach was shit mainly because of the pacing. Not because of the bullshit powers. One Piece has a man made of mochi and is the most successful manga in history.
You never loved Bleach don't kid yourself. But tell me those asspulls you do love so much and I'll debunk them like always.
>Bleach was shit mainly because of the pacing
>Not One Piece
Dressrosa made me sick for months on end like every arc nowadays.
This post reads like a copypasta.
I never mentioned One Piece pacing.
>Where does this even come from?
novels revealed Yhwach was made the new soul king. With that revelation the only logical conclusion for Kazui interacting with Yhwach is that he's either possessed or somehow kickstarted the end of the world again and the former makes much more sense out of those two options.
>Bleach was shit mainly because of the pacing
I agree. Naruto had bigger asspulls and more retconning yet still sold more.
>novels
Only the Narita novel gave us info on the Soul King. I've read it, and nothing points to any of the two "logical conclusions" you came up with.
That's not an argument like always. And now you will concede right?
Bleach had 4 good arcs and 2 bad ones dude:
Pre Reaper, Soul Society, Arrancar arc, and 1000 Year Blood war were good.
Fake Karakura Town war and Fullbring were bad
>Bleach was shit mainly because of the pacing
One Piece has even worse pacing so what's your point?
And popularity doesn't equal quality, simple knowledge.
>Yhwach is the new soul king
>Kazui killing soul king = bad
>Kazui becoming his vessel = good
It's not hard to understand user
>That's not an argument like always.
How would I even argue with what you stated in the first place? Your whole post was a joke.
>You never loved Bleach don't kid yourself.
You come across as some conceited asshole who thinks they know some random user better than they know themselves.
>But tell me those asspulls you do love so much and I'll debunk them like always.
I'm not even sure what you're trying to say here.
Bleach has seven arcs, you forgot Hueco Mundo.
>Kazui becoming his vessel = good
That's not good though.
No 21-32 were one arc. The final battle with Grimmjow is in volume 32. He had two fights with Ichigo in 23-24 and 26-27. He got a whole volume to himself and Ichigo fighting.
Bleach had five arcs; Pre-SS, SS, HM, FB, and Quincy. Fake Karakura Town was just a mini-arc if anything.
>How would I even argue with what you stated in the first place? Your whole post was a joke
Good job exaggerating there.
>You come across as some conceited asshole who thinks they know some random user better than they know themselves
You're taking this so seriously so just concede already.
>I'm not even sure what you're trying to say here
I guess you found no asspulls.
Not really. There was a saga, but it's like the android arc and the Cell arc
>the son of berry will end the shinigami and their stupid "system"
>not a good thing
>I guess you found no asspulls.
Explain the adult form of icefag.
>Explain the adult form of icefag
literally O MY MATURED ICE
fanservice
If Ichigo didn't do it then Kazui won't. The Shinigami are always going to be stuck with their stupid system. Sure, it's changed in little ways, but it's always going to stay the same. They probably like it that way anyways.
When Bleach died is pretty opinionated everywhere. I guess I'm in the minority when I think it turned to shit about the same time when Ichigo started fighting Ulquiorra. It was a hyped up fight that didn't live up to it's potential. I think Bleach died before "The Heart" moment even happened. Hell you can argue that Bleach died the second Ichigo came back from Soul Society.
The point being is asking yourself: "What made Bleach good?" Simply put the series is like many others. What makes all of these series shine is the polarity of school (normality) vs the unknown (spirits, monsters, etc)
The second Ichigo stopped developing as a character and they entirely broke away from school having any consequence at all in Ichigo's life, was the second that Bleach died as a series. What little realism was there is gone.
There's plenty of other problems in the series and anyone can go through and nitpick stuff, ESPECIALLY towards the end.
>If Ichigo didn't do it then Kazui won't
but only one of them shares consciousness with Yhwach. Kazui also doesn't seem to be some cynical self centered sack of shit so he has that going in his favor too.
>but only one of them shares consciousness with Yhwach
This isn't canon though.
I am a God nothing can kill me unless its a God Slaying Sword
I am the Miracle and nothing these shinigami can do can harm me, but I will suddenly die because the leader decided I'm just gonna kill all my allies
Rose was beaten in half a chapter because I explained my power out loud to Super Star
I feel no fear because I am half frozen
I think every major arc had its ups and downs. All in all, I don't regret reading it.
>This isn't canon though
>canonicity mattering
>in an ending that's left up to interpretation
>I feel no fear because I am half frozen
rukias bankai is dumb, but im pretty sure the whole point of it is that shes so frozen that shes practically 'dead" or close to it which makes her incapable of not feeling any type of emotion, giving her the advantage over someone that feeds off of fear.
My point is that Bleach pacing is the main thing that made it shit.
One Piece has shit pacing (sometimes) but its not as boring as Bleach was, and does not have as many flaws as Bleach had.
>plus that every fight was asspull after asspull once we got to the Aizen fight
That's what the other user said so he literally has nothing for this
>I am a God nothing can kill me unless its a God Slaying Sword
This was an asspull but at least it got an explanation over it.
>I am the Miracle and nothing these shinigami can do can harm me, but I will suddenly die because the leader decided I'm just gonna kill all my allies
Not an asspull, Juha Bach just didn't give a fuck anymore and he would've lost if Kenpachi could control his Bankai anyway.
>Rose was beaten in half a chapter because I explained my power out loud to Super Star
Not a goddamn asspull, it was a small case of stupidity and ignorance since he had no clue Mask would destroy his eardrums like a madman.
>I feel no fear because I am half frozen
I forgot about this part of her fight.
>I forgot about this part of her fight.
So now that it was pointed out, debunk it like you said you would.
Respect Hitsugaya you faggot. Here's the rundown on what happens when you speedread a character you despise.
>Shawlong theorized that Hitsugaya's petals are a timer for his Bankai but this is confirmed to be false
>The last chapter before the Fullbring arc starts has a scene where Hitsugaya is training his Bankai in order to protect everyone and does this for 1 year and a half
>A scene in the last arc shows that Hitsugaya was able to turn his Bankai into a real one
>In all his fights Hitsugaya's petals never wilted until his last fight in the manga
This basically covers everything about his Bankai.
I'll just say this, that explanation sounds good but Shinigami are suppose to be dead in the first place and the Bleach universe doesn't make sense at all when you think about it
Tell me exactly what happen and I''ll do so you bastard.
they both suffer from pacing issues, but one piece drags things out, whereas bleach completely skips over shit and even managed to offscreen big bads at the end. that alone makes it worse than OP
On a long enough timeline every shounen fight shit will eventually devolve to reality-warping powers.
Bleach wasn't bad because of its powers though, Bleach was bad because its author didn't know how to storyboard.
>Shinigami are suppose to be dead in the first place
Being a spirit doesn't always equate to being dead.
In bleach you're only considered "dead" if you're a ghost wandering the real world.
Omce you make it to soul aociety you're just living another life.
You said you would debunk anything called an asspull, and that user pointed out how Rukia's whole "I don't feel fear because I'm frozen" thing with her bankai is bullshit. Debunk it. Prove that's it not an asspull like you said you would.
still doesn't explain why he aged up with his real bankai though. his adult form was something kubo pulled from his ass.
>he would've lost if Kenpachi could control his Bankai anyway
No he wouldn't.
The point of Gerard is that man cannot surpass god/nature.
Prisma Illya is in Comp Ace (Seinen, VN adaptions/spinoff focused), and Jojo moved to Ultra Jump (Seinen) about 6 months into Steel Ball Run. Overly Chuuni shits doesn't do particularly well in Shonen mags. If it wasn't Araki doing something Steel Ball Run, it'd have been cancelled instead of moved.
>it'd have been cancelled instead of moved.
no chance.
nips love jojo too much to ever get it axed.
It's shares immunity like Kochikame and Sanzae-san.
It just can't be done.
What chuunishit was done during the quincy arc?
That's what I meant. It got moved instead of axed because its Jojo, and its Araki doing it. Something like Steel Ball Run would've been cancelled normally because it doesn't fit WSJ.
Would you really consider the aging an asspull? It doesn't help in any way besides helping Hitsugaya control his form better maybe and fangirl revenue.
Komamura had a specific side effect to his new Bankai too.
>What chuunishit was done during the quincy arc?
It's literally dies iraes bleach edition
I guess Nanao would've gotten to him since her sword is a god slaying one.
Doubtful.
It didn't even kill Barro it just got rid of his divinity.
>plus that every fight was asspull after asspull once we got to the Aizen fight
Nah this is what you said so don't twist your own words. There are asspulls like any other series but it's a small amount.
>got rid of his divinity
Wouldn't be enough since Lille did eventually die?
Bleach would have been better if Kubo stuck to the original plan: Ichiruki
iirc the novels said some of the flamingos managed to run away
fuck off Rukishitter
>I feel no fear because I am half frozen
So? you cannot feel fear if your body cannot process it.
He froze his age and kept his body as a shota obviously.
>ichiruki
>original plan
Pick one and only one.
>He froze his age and kept his body as a shota obviously
I thought this was what happened before he reverted back to his normal age again.
One Piece is utter shit dude. Bleach to me is better since there is alot characters who developed and had alot of depth while One Piece is just average.
Also there is not one scene after the timeskip that surpasses anything in Bleach's last arc especially the Big Bitch shit going on now.
No one said Starrk's power was bullshit.
I didn't say the Aizen comment though.
...
>bleach completely skips over shit
>One Piece hasn't had one complete fight since Luffy vs Doflamingo
Also what big bads were skipped? A small number of Sternritter that didn't even matter?
Nigga the post still counts from everything to Aizen's big showdown.
After that, there was only two asspulls that occurred. Pretty impressive compared to the shit I've seen in Nardo and Hunt Hunta.
