ITT: Characters that would have been broken if they were smart enough to use the full extent of their abilities.
Pic related.
>very high luck stat >usually broke as fuck >doesn't use his luck to gamble and get rich
Even if there aren't gambling establishments in the Konosuba universe he could always hustle some sucker adventurer into making a friendly wager with him or something.
Pretty sure that he made quite some use of his luck stat. Some might consider its impact broken and unfair.
Kevin Jenkins
OP is a fag who does not know the source.
Jaxson Phillips
MFW he gambled a fucking COUNTRY to the ground.
Bentley James
>doesn't use his luck to gamble and get rich ITT: OP tells everyone he's a filthy animeonly
Camden Wilson
Kazuman gambled so hard he fucking bankrupted an entire nation whose entire purpose is gambling
Jose Morales
The anime is better than the shitty source.
Connor Cox
hey look! a filthy secondary! Let's all use image macros to laugh at him
Matthew Nelson

I think the fact that it took him longer than than anime covered instead of IMMEDIATELY is part of the issue in and of itself

Is the KS LN worth reading? I'm done waiting for s3, I just want to know if it's mostly translated or if reading KS involves lots of waiting too...

If I was isekai'd i'd want the life that kazuma wants just to be rich and chill all day not worrying about anything except being comfy under my kotatsu fuck the demon lord someone else can take care of that let the chad knight do it
Eli Baker
...
Carter Baker
>power balanced >shitty personality >chad slayer >kind of pervert >not a beta MC or a white knight one
>ruined forever and ever It's sad when I think about it.
Jason Ross
>As usual, Darkness is the only one who worries about Kazuma's wellbeing OTP CONFIRMED
Carter Wilson
Dude, think about it: Kazuma lives in a literal mansion right now and is in a party with extremely overleveled teammates. He can and does lead the easy life, only needing to take piss easy quests for money if he's short on cash. He doesn't *need* to gamble to become rich, he's already rich.
And then there's the fact that the house always wins. If Kazuma suddenly went on a highly suspicious winning streak, he'd probably be asked to leave.
Daniel Cook
Sorry Satan, I am not talking about the main subject but the fact the LN ruined him forever.
Hudson Cook
Gamble where, exactly? Until he goes to the casino nation he's in some backwater adventurer town. >Gamble with adventurers >Win every time >They accuse you of cheating and gut you GG
Jace Turner
>Has one of the most terrifying, inescapable stands in the series >Is too retarded to know how to use it properly and usually ends up screwing self over instead
Parker Ramirez
yeah

How is Kazuma ruined? He's literally our guy.

I think he feels betrayed because he has a girlfriend now in the LN
Blake Allen
Dropped.
Austin Richardson
Which is better? LN or manga?
Owen Rivera
>Not mentioning the GF is Megumin...
Brandon Peterson
But it's Megumeme
Adrian Fisher
The manga is legit bad, the weakest official thing in Konosuba (not counting the Bakuen manga, which is great!)
Isaiah Clark
Thanks user. I was leaning towards getting the LN anyway and that just seals the deal.
Liam Gomez

The manga isn't even as far as the anime anyhow...
Cameron Reyes
Yes, the romance it's all a change in plans and totally not part of the web novel from years before...Such a travesty!
Carter Kelly
According to the wiki only the first 3 are translated into English, so you're going to be depending on fan subs for the majority of the LN volumes.
>Part 1 >The carriage drove over the pavement and made loud creaking sound. >“… Another world… Hey, it really is another world. Eh, it’s for real? I am going to used magic and adventure in this world?” >used I'm having some serious second thoughts about this.
Do people really read these? It's like an extremely poorly written book, it's just so..declarative.
Cooper Thompson
>highly suspicious winning streak What would be lucky is losing enough to not be so suspicious. So that's what would happen?
Josiah Taylor
If he was really lucky though he'd have lucked into the idea to start gambling in the first place
Because he's super lucky, it must be that he lives in the best of all possible worlds
Evan Howard
Already broken, but could have been more broken if she was not an total idiot.
Connor Myers
easy there Leibniz
Hudson Thompson
Most LNs are really bad in prose/on a technical level, user.
Sebastian Robinson
The nature of Japanese light novels and amateur translation leads to this. Things do improve down the line and there are...4 versions of book one out there at that...each with it's own level of both translation quality and level of formal English prose.
Don't expect a tale of two city's here....
Nicholas Ramirez
>reading LNs You don't actually do this, right?
James Green
Oh boy, reminds me of volume 9 or so of Infinite Stratos. It had a really awkwardly flowing line that went something like >As Ichika massaged her back Tatenashi blushed and squirmed, her real name Katana
Lincoln Walker
It always amuses me whenever someone complains about the "writing" in Japanese media.
Do you people even know anything about the language?
Parker Diaz
A good translation isn't literal user.
Thomas Ramirez

Noah Cox

Daniel Morris
Care to elaborate a bit? I'm genuinely interested since I've only ever read translations and am definitely not getting the original order/format.
Caleb Morgan
Yeah, because English and Japanese are two different languages.
There is no such thing as a "perfect translation" and therefore complaining about the writing of a translated work is just stupid, even more so when you're unironically doing it without knowing anything about Japanese language.
Jacob Hill
...
Gabriel Richardson
>loyalty that low
what the fuck
Jeremiah Garcia
How the fuck is that a reasonable response to my post? Just because a translation isn't perfect doesn't mean there's no such thing as a bad translation. You modify the original statement for the target language while retaining as much of the native intonation as possible, it doesn't matter how little one language lends itself to translation into another retard.
Ryan Sanders
Cuteness should be higher, charm should be lower.
Why is my wife Lalatina's loyalty so low?
Lower the charm and you're right on the money.
Daniel Young
>Yeah, because English and Japanese are two different languages. you don't say user
Isaiah Price
In any case, all signs point to Megumin as marriage material, Darkness as fuck material, and Aqua as trash.
Bentley Morris
I wouldn't know; i don't know Japanese. I'm only saying that complaining about the writing of a translation is stupid.
I don't have the link with me right now, but you can find the original Narou WN in the archives. Just keep in mind that the LN has an editor, so the LN writing is obviously superior to the WN.
I think i'm misunderstanding your post. Or maybe you're the one who misunderstood. But anyway, i'm just saying that complaining about the writing of a translation is stupid. Nothing more, nothing less.
Jayden Martinez
If you speak English and are reading an English translation, you are perfectly qualified to comment on its quality of writing but not its accuracy. Either one one can result in a bad translation.
Aaron Powell
>Being an EOP >telling other EOPs what they can or can't say about translation quality This is what we call the blind leading the blind
Wyatt Gray
I agree on that, as long as you realize that it's obviously a translation. Complaining about the Japanese writing when you're reading an English translation is what i was talking about.
Leo Kelly
>cuteness that low ???
Daniel Jenkins
I was talking about EOPs complaining about the LN's writing, not EOPs complaining about the translation's writing.
Sorry, i misworded my post.
Zachary Gomez
But the English translation isn't in Japanese anymore. So how can you complain about Japanese writing?
Joseph Howard

>Chomsuke's face
Mason Thompson
obligatory although it was probably reasonable in this context. If you've ever read a translated LN it's pretty different to a novel in this country, the writing style is a lot shorter and more concise in my opinion, and everything is expressed in explicit sentences as opposed to paragraphs. because Japanese doesn't usually contain as much rhetoric, not to mention the fact that an entire sentence can be shortened to a few kanji stuck together in one "word" the writing style is difficult to translate into english perfectly cause it just sounds weird.
TL;DR: japanese is basically like greentext and if you read literal translations they can sound pretty weird and oversimplified.
Carson Martin
So has Kazuma learned explosion magic yet?
Isaac Sanders
The daily explosion dates seem to foreshadow that in my opinion. >sekiha tenkyoken explosion when
Noah Allen
>mfw never read a LN before >mfw enjoyed KonoSuba so much I'm actually considering it
Henry Martin
Is worth it You can preload the chapter on your phone so you don't need wifi all the time, and just read it whenever.
Parker Bailey
>Housewife that low She's incredibly money efficient and can cook pretty well. She learned to be independent very early after all.
It's like you switched Darkness' and Megumins housewife skills
Austin Cooper
Kazuma is a retard because he still hasn't pounded Aqua's ass despiter her almost explicitly asking for it
Jace Reed
user is a fucking LIGHT NOVEL don't try searching for Dune or any other western writing level becuase you are not going to find it.
Also japanese hardly translates well to english there are some things you are not going to be able to translate 100%
