I do think that humans should have inalienable rights and freedoms just because we are humans. We afford people rights and hope that they pay us back in return. When we make provisions, we eat away at those rights.

This is kind of a slippery slope argument, but it makes sense. Most people who are pro-choice believe that women shoud have the right to terminate a pregnancy at any point of the process. They may not AGREE with the morality of aborting a fetus at 8 months, but they have justified it by telling themselves it is a rare occurrence and that the FETUS is not a person. Labeling, basically.

When we give ourselves permission to give people the label of human and not human, I think we can justify horrible acts of violence. We can be okay with taking away people's inalienable rights, such as the right to defend yourself with a firearm or the right to free speech.

Let's not play around with who is human and who is not. There are some rights we must not mess with and I say that taking the life of children is one of them.

Fetuses are people. They have the right to life. BUT THEY do not have the right to live in another person's body without that person's consent. If the person does not consent and ejects the fetus, they are in their right. The fetus dying is only a foreseen consequence. You can't just kill the fetus if it somehow survived outside of the womb. As a matter of ethics: There is no proper criteria by which we say life begins so any abortion is killing the child.

As a matter of law: No one has rights to my body. Even if I enter into an agreement to offer my body as life support to another I have no obligation to continue doing so. The idea that the state can step in and say that the other person has rights to my body to keep them alive is absurd.
