Right wingers that toe the line at all are basically being removed from almost every popular social media platform. Do you guys think this is a problem, and if yes, what do you see as the best solution?
The way I see it, we've got four ways to move forward:
1. We do nothing, we get kicked off these platforms and do something else with our lives 2. We tried to change government policy so that these large social media platforms are regulated like utilities and kicking us off for our political views would be illegal in the same way that shutting off our faucets would be 3. We create alternative platforms that are run by right wingers and are explicitly right wing in nature (in order to prevent subversion) 4. We create decentralized platforms run by no one but accessible to everyone so that we can't be removed by someone higher up (cryptocurrencies are a great example of this in action, and these currencies have been there for people on the far right when centralized payment systems like PayPal and banks have shut them out)
What do you guys think? There are pros and cons to each, personally I think the best option is 4, because when the system is up and running its not on one person or a small group of people to maintain that platform, rather its maintained by many individuals (and let's face it, right now the online right is mostly anons working together, so this solution would be more fitting than some rich entrepreneur building us these platforms). Not only that, the platform doesn't have to be pretty, it simply needs to work. The chans are a great example of that, these forums aren't exactly lookers but they provide a necessary function.
Two is something that I think would be helpful to the right but I'm not sure it would ever happen and frankly I think it would set a bad precendent.

I agree, and we shouldn't forget that Sup Forums never started out as a hub for right wing politics or anything similar. Sup Forums and all of its boards had organic growth and gained the reputation they did over time organically, there was no guiding hand or overarching purpose to the site originally (except give people a place to discuss anime I think). It was open and almost anything was allowed and this is the result. If we create platforms with explicit goals in mind we run the risk of becoming "the nazi forum" or something similarly worthless, places like Stormfront really have nothing to show compared to Sup Forums.
I guess we do have Liveleak right now but it is missing many key features that make YouTube more attractive, and I'll be honest and say that one of them is a large audience.

The problem with decentralizing those platforms would be to have cloud storage. However, you can't just have people providing space and then going offline for a while. That's why decentralizing cloud storage is almost impossible.

Rather than depend on sites like Youtube who can remove content at any time, those who want to keep videos up can dedicate their own machines for it. The information that survives will be information that people want to survive.
People already do this with hooktube. They see a video on Youtube, download it using hooktube and then reupload it to Bitchute or other video hosting services.
The same will happen to advertising. Edgy sites like Dailystormer can't depend on advertisements, but there are alternatives. For instance, the can accept donations directly, accept BAT or move towards a model where browsers can do browser mining to generate revenue. All of these factors remove the dependency sites have on mainstream advertisers.

Besides that, the content is basically hosted on a centralized database. If the source pulls the plug, all the content is gone. The blockchain just can't host content, because you would need to share all that data with thousands of other storages to actually have it be decentralized. Well EOS will be more decentralized in a sense because ETH has more centralized mining. I don't remember the specifics but he was blasting ETH and BTC because their mining is centralized by a few people or groups and it pretty much defeats the purpose of crypto currency. He could have been exaggerating, and just shamelessly shilling his own project by demeaning others. ETH should a long term staple and supposedly Plasma will solve the scaling but as of right now its a huge problem, but if EOS pulls it off smoothly the growth potential will be ridiculous. Everpedia which is essentially Wikipedia is one of the first projects going live. Steemit reached the top 2000 trafficked sites in less than a few years if I remember correctly.
