This whole mess has opened up a way to attack kadokawa executive management and it ties in to the whole revenue loss from nico nico douga acquisition story, given that kemono friends was saving nico nico.

The top brass were blindsided by kemono friends project having this meltdown. middle level exec followed procedure, but things are now way out of hand.

Thing is, they could have made some kid-friendly variant of KF and let S2 still run. They could have even linked it in a timeline by having it take place like way in the future or something or maybe before the Sandstar brought about the collapse. Or even just be in the manga universe since that all takes place at normal schools, etc.

There is no good reason it has to be unified now when everything was separate and loosely related before now. Kids won't care about continuity.
