Getting through the nonsense; look if you care, don't if you don't
Only posting this one because I like the Motobe model near the bottom right
Alright, getting started
Chapter 175: Big Match
havent played garouden in 2 years fuck ....
>Tokugawa: That super, super strong Hanayama,
>T: Who, in that state...
>T: Pushed you that far...
>T: Can't hold a candle to Hanma Baki.
>T: That's the absolute truth.
Garouden has a game? Either way, that's not what that is. That's the Baki mobage that came out about a month or so ago.
>Musashi: The boy is stronger than Hanayama.
>M: I knew that.
>T: You knew that...?
>T: Yet again, you say something bizarre.
>T: You've already beaten Baki once.
>T: I thought that you'd at least invoke that.
>M: That was not a match.
>M: I took advantage of the boy's inexperience.
>M: It was, simply, manipulation.
>T: Manipulation...?
>M: I understood his true strength on seeing him.
>M: Before he became serious...
>M: Came threats.
>M: My putting on airs.
>M: Flippantry.
yeah, it reminds me of Garouden Breakblow: Fist or Twist, you should try it, wished for a remake of it because of how fun some characters were ( also try niconico viewer for crazy matches played by japanese to get you hyped )
>M: I put him into a state from which he could not show his true strength.
>M: It was nothing more than an act of manipulation.
>M: A tachiai is a different sort of affair.
>T: Even if Baki were to hear that,
>T: He wouldn't accept it.
TN: A tachiai is the agreed-upon point/place in which two sumo charge at each other at the exact same time. "Tachiai" is, literally, "standing meeting". If you've seen/read about tachiai, that's what Musashi is talking about.

>T: No matter who says what,
>T: Baki will not consign himself to defeat.
>T: Be it from a surprise attack, a cheater, someone using weapons, a group of people,
>T: Even interspecies conflict -
>T: Baki doesn't care about any of that.
>T: Beat them, you win.
>T: Get beat, you lose.
>T: It's that sort of simple thing to him.
>M: Shinpuru...?
>T: If you win in a squabble,
>T: That's that, right?
>M: Heh-heh...
>M: 'If it's a match, he won't lose.' So, that's it.
TN: Tokugawa says "simple" in English. Musashi doesn't speak English.
>T: I'd like to tell you...
>T: One more thing.
>M: Is that the honest truth...?
>T: He defeated your "Mighty One", Hanma Yuujiro.
>T: He is the only living being to have done so.
>T: That's the one you call "the boy".
>T: That's Hanma Baki.
DOPPO BEST BAKI
>M: I remember.
>M: That...
>M: In every direction...
>M: In every direction,
>M: Stretching until the ends of the earth,
>M: That great banquet field...!!!
>M: How wonderful!!!
>M: How appetizing,
>M: How wonderful a match! (picture of a human heart)
>M: TOKUGAWA!
>M: ARRANGE FOR THE MATCH AT ONCE!!!
...
...
>Koushou: W-
>K: Wow...
>K: The tape came off...
>K: From the opposite side that you hit.
>K: Your basic jabs are that strong.
>K: Miyamoto Musashi's strength...
>K: You've aimed to learn from it.
>K: At this level, if you hit that swordsmaster,
>K: There's no way that he'd stay standing.
>Baki: Well...
>B: Truth is,
>B: I'm not really looking to beat him.
>K: ...Huh?
>B: I'm thinking that I'd like to kill him.
End chapter. No Itagaki sez, because it's mostly unreadable. Something about the weather again.
thanks
>B: I'm thinking that I'd like to kill him.
Did Baki just remember that Retsu was his pal or what?
They all let that slide because Retsu chose to die. That was the point of the whole "tell me that I made a mistake" scene.
When will we get more of Yujiro? If it's an unstoppable foe, I'd rather have him than Musashi.
Can always pretend that series 3 is a sequel. Iunno.
Not making the mistake of calling him Kureha this time, eh?
Not trying to shit on you, just thought it was funny that you confused Shinogi and Kureha last chapter, though the thread was already archived by the time I got to it so I couldn't comment on it then.
In any case, thanks for the translation as always. Hopefully things are gonna really kick off in another chapter or two. No clue what Baki's murderous intent is gonna amount to - he's certainly capable of it. Wonder how that's gonna tie in to Motobe's whole 'in this age we don't need to kill to win' thing though.
Aw fuck, I just did the same myself - Shinogi is both their family names. It's confusing when Kosho is almost always called Shinogi while Kureha is simply called Dr. Kureha.
eh, >K: is >K:, doesn't really matter to me
Is it a good translation for the hand pocket technique to be called kiai? Shouldn't be iai, like the similar move unsheathing a sword? I thought kiai was some internal energy bullshit.
Did they have sex?
>Pushed you that far...
It looked like Hanayama didn't even push Musashi at all, Musashi was basically basking in the light. Even after all the punches Musashi just sat there and took them with no real problem.
Rahon is such an underrated character. Strong as hell, great design and unique fighting style. He'd give some of the top A-tiers like Doppo a good fight and most likely beat some of the mid A-tiers like Shinogi and Jyaku.
Speaking of Jyaku, such a waste that we've only seen him in the background since the Raitai arc, he was a ton of fun too.
garouden reference AGAIN
>muh baki is stronger than yujiro
I hate this.
BAKI IS BACK
They never say that.
They say he beat him
He took the moral victory? Or maybe he just survived? How is getting turned into a human nunchuck considered winning or even "beating" anyone.
I hate that aspect of Baki. When someone "is beaten/loses" is arbitrary and up to interpretation. It made sense for the convicts since they were scroungers. But then you have Doppo going up to Ali Jr. and saying that he didn't really lose because their fight wasn't to the death.
Baki won on the imagination match, and everyone knows that the only thing that matters.
Yujiro could have killed him at any point in time if he wanted? True, but he could not beat his imagination!
If you speedread it's not a wonder that you failed to get the point f the nunchuck scene, it was to hype the level baki was already at, as he was so bored during it all that he was able to build a small statue while avoiding getting damaged.
No news about the anime?
Not in this number, the last thing we knew is that it's produced by Netflix.
BAKI BEST DOPPO
Being bored is not the same as being in control. Outside of the imagination meal at the end Baki never had an upper hand. His best techniques did nothing, and Yuujiro just toyed with him.
Strong is Beautiful
The anime is to be released in 2018. It is being produced by TMS Entertainment. Each episode will be 30 minutes long, not counting commercials. In a move which utterly pissed me the fuck off, they decided to release the anime on Netflix Japan in the Fall, and on Netflix Everywhere Else in the Summer.
Meaning that I either have to find someone to help us figure out how to fansub, or we can all wait for a full season, or fucking something; it's going to be a nightmare.

Wasn't it the same for Little Witch Academia? Baki's fanbase may not be big, but most people who started watching anime in the past decade at least know the name. I'm sure someone will sub it if not for the e-penis.
>Netflix Japan in the Fall, and on Netflix Everywhere Else in the Summer.
I don't live in the northern hemisphere, but isn't that the other way around?
Is your problem translating spoken Japanese? Because I'm sure a show aired by Netflix Japan must come with an option for Japanese subtitles.
What's up with the raws this week?
Well, yes, but the real problem is the effort in the video stuff. None of us know how to do that crap, and I doubt that any of us would like to have to learn.
>isn't that the other way around?
Yes, sorry. Too groggy to remember which way's which, much less give proper answers. Summer in Japan, Fall in Everywhere Else.
What's wrong? Don't you like PAPER?
>I don't live in the northern hemisphere, but isn't that the other way around?
The problem is not of hemispheres, it's the 6 months difference in release dates.
>trying to release a chapter
>can't get decent raws
Summer goes before Fall.
>existing on a temporal axis wherein that remains true
