I was in Hirosaki last summer and they were selling Flying Witch pretty hard. Branded apple candies in every shop, some signs at the local castle, and the tour bus had running narration by the protagonist as you went about town.

Aria was plain boring. And it suffers with the same disease like Amanchu - overuse of derpy faces. I just couln't enjoy it, even if slice of life is my fav genre.

Yes, it is. It's perfect distilled healing. Aria tends to veer into dramatic territory at times. Non Non Biyori gets close to gag comedy. Flying Witch is a true genre piece and an example of pure iyashikei.

That's not to say it's strictly better than the other anime I mentioned, mind you. Just that it's probably the clearest and most unambiguous example of its genre.

The Aria manga is infinitely better, and doesn't have the insufferable Aria sancho VA ruining every other scene. Just read the manga and play the OST from the show in the background. Infinitely better experience.
