Melodrama and good visuals

Visuals were great but the story wasn't as good. The romance developed too fast and wasn't based on anything solid.

it was good

Brainlets are easy to impress

OPPAI
HORA HORA

Amazing visuals (my eyes screamed pleasure during the dusk scenes)
Very entertaining first half of the story.
Good MCs.

Too bad the movie really tumbles down when the whole shit with the comet starts. Like, why the fuck would you bring this kind of plot point in such a story? That's a real dealbreaker.
Also, the OST wasn't noticeable enough.

I honestly have no idea.

Actually made me feel something.
Unlike Your Lie in April.

Koe no Katachi is better by a lot

I think it reminded everyone what they felt when they were younger, hoping there was a person out there that they could have a supernatural connection with. I personally had forgotten that was something I dreamed for.

Kinda wish Radwimps covered this song for Your Name

Because it was cute, had good visuals, was heartwarming and had a good twist.

It definitely did have that feeling. The film also had the sense of exploring beyond one's comfort zones, travelling between urban and rural backgrounds, and developing the urge to care for those outside places, all of which reflect on the notion of dealing with natural disaster outcomes. The film is a rollercoaster of emotions that captures the essence of youngsters becoming into adults and taking action to help others simply because they care.

Why is this video prohbited in the US?

Because your presidant is a cuck

this, it's a romance with no actual fucking development that went for muh epic twist, only brainlet bought this force drama because everything was spoon fed by Shinkai
>hurr durr did you see her crying after a 5 minute Jpop song, they love him now goys feel for them

>Koe no Katachi is better by a lot

It was a good fun film when they were fucking around bodyswapping

Then the cringe forced drama happened with a village being killed

Its actually good, thats why.
Shinkai stopped taking mono no aware too far and made something with a not bitter sweet ending.

Man, did they really go for that typeface in the western posters?

Like, the fucking japanese typeset is clearly transferable to simple old style serif. Why the whole handwritten thing?

I seriously don't understand how this is the most expensive anime movie. Aside from the backgrounds the characters looked like generic moeblobs and even in one of the most important scenes (the magic hour) the animation looked cheap even for anime television standards. And I'm not gonna talk about the story because I'm not into melodrama but shit was fast paced and the songs really unfitting with the rythm of the story and the characters screaming "Nani!?" "Hontou?!" like my chinese cartoons was really bad voice acting. This shit was so bad that made Kizumonogatari looks good in comparison.

it barely had any bodyswapping, and most of them are shown through whatever meme Jpop song Shinkai wanted to force. The rest is just fucking plot device and oh boy the scene when they met on the hill literally scream please turn off your brain

Get a job Taki.

Because it was a good movie
>as spoken by someone who is obviously the expert on love
Who are you kidding user, we all know you are a nerd living in your mothers basement with a good chance of reaching wizard status.

He's going through a rough point right now.

i fucking hate shinkai's movies . the guy wastes high budgets on such a boring lame stories

>high budgets

It developed too fast because they put pretty much all of their interactions into a montage. They didn't really seem to pace very well.

It found a way.

...

>It takes brains to watch anime

>rollercoaster of emotions
That's what really got me worked up when I finally watched it last night, but I think the production quality and overall tone are going to be what I remember it for. The entire work was put together very well, but it also felt genuinely optimistic in spite of the drama bombs and reality-induced amnesia.

Because its enjoyable. Enjoyable =/= good though.

Already a thing.

Good visuals and muh feels.

The objective quality of a movie or show doesn't really matter to me. Kimi no na wa was a beautiful piece of work and it was also sentimental in all the right ways. I never minded the melodrama.
