Again and again, in the immigration debate, you will hear leftists claim that rich countries are "empty", because there is a lot of unused geographical space, as if these areas where there are no towns, no roads, and no civilization of any kind can just magically be filled with people who couldn't even build a functioning country in a place that already has those things.
I've actually seen pictures on the internet where people color in all the rural areas of Britain (most of them already inhabited), or the deserts of New Mexico, and then claim that that is where the immigrants will find a new life. Don't they realize that this is not the case? The immigrants do not go to the wasteland to start anew. They stay in the already-crowded big cities to collect gibs.
A country isn't a geographical area, anyway. It's a system of people cooperating within a common culture, economy, etc. You measure it by population and character, not by how many niggers you can stuff into a confined space.
