I heard that the producer of this show infiltrated the Mangaka's hideout to convince him to approve the anime, though. He attacked a couple of the mangaka's employees/body guards but wasn't charged with assault.

Damn. That might be true. Reminds me of Miyazaki and his pedo tendencies and how he just gets away with it because he founded Toei. It's a dangerous world out there and I'm glad my daughter is no longer in his strikezone.

it's fucking real, the anime is not exaggerating the forms and the postures and the necks, these people are indeed all giraffes

Yes, the poses are akin to real life. Doesn't mean that real-life dancers have necks as long as those in the anime. Haikyuu character designer was a mistake.

The anime exaggerates the necks too much, and the movements are way too aggressive, I'm guessing they tried to give the animation a 'shounen' feel but it just comes across as very bad. When I see that video I realize how 'floaty' and 'wavy' real ballroom dance is, none of that is present in the webms of Ballroom Yokoso I've seen.

the dancing is indeed too shounen, it's a sports anime after all, he's "battling" with the other people on the floor, also the MC's dancing sucks

the quickstep is aggressive, because it's allowed to be; I didn't feel the same degree of aggressiveness on the waltz though, although it definitely isn't as smooth as it should be

I'm guessing it's due to budget limitations, we haven't had a really good minute long uncut smooth looking non-repetitive dance scene yet and that's my biggest gripe with the anime, it can't happen every couple of episodes but I expected at least a couple during the course of the show, if we don't get one in the finale it'll be a big letdown
