>it's still pretty awesome

>boring: the anime

Indeed. I wasted my time on ten episodes, until I finally realized that nothing will ever happen.

Insurance fraud is way worse than piracy desu
Even software piracy

dont forget the lezbos

>missed the yacht race, lesbians and retarded backflipping ships

Sounds great to be honest.

Good thing they're privateers.

What I expected: ships shooting lasers and missiles at each other.
What I got: ELECTRONIC WARFARE

It was absolutely nothing like I expected it to be, but I loved it anyways.

Marika had amazing hair.
Your argument is invalid.

Mouretsu Pirates and Haifuri just made me really really want a Lesbian Star Trek anime.

It was absolutely nothing like I expected it to be, and it let me down hard.

Had a good OP. Everything after was hot garbage.

...

>gif
you had one job

>Midweek Pirates thread

Sweet.

I still want someone to explain the cyberpoetry battle to me. I love the idea, I just have no idea how it works.

It's sufficiently advanced technology,
Ain't gotta explain shit.

[GUITAR SOLO INTENSIFIES]

Amazing that after all this time, I still heard it in my head instantly.

That's not Monster

Marika's mum is insanely bangable and one of the like 2 straight females in the entire show.

You know Star Trek is basically like that.

Haifuri triggered me because little girls shouldn't be playing in the open sea. It's dangerous and it takes a lot of strength to man a ship.

>Had a good OP. Everything after was hot garbage.
>[GUITAR SOLO INTENSIFIES]
I feel out of place here because I actually didn't like the show's OP, but I loved the ED.

The show itself was enjoyable but not fantastic.

The show did drag on a bit longer in parts than it should have and the tone was all over the place, but it wasn't bad, it just wasn't good enough warrant as many episodes as it got.

Too true.

Star Trek is having your ship's computer systems taken over by ghosts or 5th dimensional energy beings.

I laughed a little when i noticed VAs for Marika & Chiaki here then casted tales of zesteria for Rose & Alisha, and we know what shit happened there.

Cosplay insurance fraud was more fun than piracy.

I thought Tales was fujoshit.

Guitar work by Marty Friedman of Megadeth fame.

Bullshit, but I'll believe it

Him having a career in Japan isn't exactly a secret.

>Bullshit, but I'll believe it
rollingstone.com/music/features/life-after-deth-how-megadeths-marty-friedman-became-a-japanese-superstar-20140819

"It's really technical and progressive and unique. There's a 100-piece chorus singing along, with me playing guitar – and I'm playing my ass off – and the five girls are singing and dancing. There are time signature changes, there are tempo changes, there's all kinds of crazy stuff and the song is six minutes long. It's like the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' of idol music."

You should. By all accounts he's living the dream and married to pic related.

This thread has a serious lack of Chiaki.

What's to explain? They attempt to take over each other's systems via hacking

You need to know how to bait 'er out.

Why did Odette shake and rattle when a beam weapon was fired at them and it clearly missed? There's nothing in space to make shockwaves that could rattle them like that.

Marika acting silly would work as well.

yeah trigun was good

Look man, I can't be upset at what will probably be the most Rogue Trader anime I'll ever see.

gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=list&tags=yasuda_akira
While I don't really care for most of this stuff, that Chiaki character sheet is nice.

fixed that for ya

Just as Slayers is your average D&D campaign, Moretsu is your average Rogue Trader campaign. Even had a fucking Eldar show up out of nowhere with a bullshit space magic ship trying to ruin everyone's fun.

Turkey hat is still bestgirl.

Ai-chan is too pure for this world.

The movie was pretty bad, though.

...

it had marty friedman playing so it couldn't be not good

How about a bath first?

>make another Heroman
>don't give it to Pirate Joey Jones
Build Fighters spoiled me on Mikako finally getting to play with more robots, now Stan will never get his next coffee. Amusing they added Mikako's Marika-themed Gunpla in there though.

Sucks we're never going to get another season and the movie was basically irrelevant even though they clearly had a lot more stuff they wanted to do. The whole space privateer concept was really interesting.

Isn't the LN still going on?

>Even had a fucking Eldar show up out of nowhere with a bullshit space magic ship trying to ruin everyone's fun.
the more I think about it the more that statement rings true

Isn't this one of those anime adaptations that goes off in a totally different direction than the LN?

Do they get in space ships and shoot things?

surprisingly enough, yes.

and she still wanted to bang the captain in the end

Sounds good enough to me. Is it fun?

Yeah. Be careful about the fanservice though. Some lewd shit.

>mfw she lets it all hang out

That's that real good shit

s-slower you slut

I really need to rewatch Harlock.

SLUTS

Well desu that would be more in line with how real space pirates would work. Instead of wasting supplies and crew members with a boarding party and lots of shooting that would be extremely risky to both the crew of the pirate ship and the target ship it would be more effective to hack the target vessels systems, lock out the crew's access and close the bulkheads in strategic locations on the ship to isolate personnel on said ship so when you finally do send a boarding party they can go in, raid the cargo hold and get out with little to no resistance along the way.

Also Lynn used a real life cyber-security tactic on the Lightning 11's EW specialists called a Honeynet, which is basically a fake network disguised as a legitimate one with the sole purpose of baiting hackers into hacking it so the owner of said network can observe and study their methods. I suppose in doing so Lynn was able to figure out what hardware the hackers were using and utilized known vulnerabilities in their hardware hack them back.

Unfortunately for her they weren't stupid and did the sensible thing to do when a hacker is gaining control of your systems: cut the power.

Her hat was fucking retarded.

take that back

What an adorable hat. More anime should have hats like this.

Webm related is my dick after seeing your post

The OP is good, but the ED is god tier and outshines the OP by miles.

Isn't that approach a problem when you require your systems to stay on? Like if google were hacked, and they turned off all their power for a while, that'd fuck up their profits real good, right? And how do you hack proof everything while the power's off so the same doesn't happen when the power turns back on?

Google and other tech giants have multiple redundant and backup systems so when one goes offline another comes online and takes its place. These backup systems are collectively referred to as "failover" systems.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Failover

I liked this show in a good old space shenanigans sort of way.

Reminds me a bit of Kiddy Grade. God I miss that. (didn't like Kiddy Girl-and)
Why isn't Japan making more badass girls in space anime?

i wasn't talking about an actual good anime

So what's with Momoiro Clover Z and collabs with heavy metal gaijin?

Just yank the network connection from the wall. Security of system > 100% up time. Ewar on vessels like that could happen, but I think it would be far more about jamming, rather than trying to directly access things on the ship. As for during combat you should go into lock down, turn all your network infrastructure off and rely solely on hardwired connections (but that again leaves issues of severed cables, espionage that severs those beforehand etc). Mecha series also suffer from this lack of Ewar.

Like original Trek. It was a great show.

So why was a lesbian side couple confirmed but MC and her friend couldn't get it on? Why do Japs always do thing, you'll get gay side characters who are up front with it, but MC who would normally have a slow burn romance never gets to be fully gay, but we will be baited along with it the entire time.

Failover, Heartbeat, why does computer terminology sound like a chuuni power system?

One gay couple was enough, I wouldn`t mind if Marika and other MCs getting into relationships though, I`d just rather romance subplots stayed minimal of not kept in their own genre.

i still have no clue what this anime is really about

That sounds like that short film before "Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life" to be perfectly honest!

It was good until they focused on the school girl class.

tfw the movie flopped so there's no more moe pirates ever

Maybe they shouldn't have made it so bad.

Why doesn't she just make a move

There wasn't that much hype, why was it bad? Nothing related to the LNs? The anime went original if I recall.

It was basically just an extra long episode of the series. Without watching it before, the movie by itself was only meh.

I loved this show. New season when?

When someone with a few extra millions funds it.

The show was actively trying to subvert the concept of Build up > Payoff in storytelling.
There's barely ever tension, and key scenes they tease at or lead up to are outright skipped.

They change the fate of an entire planet and it still feels like nothing happened.
