What if L got the Deathnote instead of Kira?

What if L got the Deathnote instead of Kira?

He'd think it's a stupid prank and throw it away.

Nothing at all.

He'd probably not believe that it's real, freak out upon seeing Ryuk and think it's a devil trying to trick him.
Then he'd 'prove' to Ryuk that the Death Note isn't real by betting his own life on his claims, writing down his real name and subsequently dying.
The end.

He'd be less emotional but have more potential for cruelty. The end result wouldn't be much different.

>stupid prank
>think it's a devil trying to trick him
>betting his own life
These are all incredibly correct.

Since it was the shinigami world what was actually rotten,
maybe he would find the way to give them some cleaning.

If anything, he'd test it on a death row inmate about to die. See it as a curiosity. He might be more interested in how the notebook does what it does more than what ends he can reach with it, like Light.

>Even with the most adaptable, immediately useful tool in the universe, an autist will still find a way to do something redundant with it.

THAT sounds the most possible. Once he knows what it can do he'd wither keep it to himself or find away to get rid of it so noone would have that kind of power.

then again he can just talk to the feathgod on the regular and never use it.

Sounds like a very short series.

It'd be an edgy version of Detective Conan, with L dealing the death penalty out at the end of every episode.

hm, he wouldn't do anything... L explains in the beginning of the series why he thinks kira's ideals are shit, so he would not do the same.

The story would be about Ryuuk trying to make L use the Death Note. Something like Samon the summoner, but more like Ryuuk the shinigami.

anons are so busy thinking about how L would react that they forget what Ryuuk would do.

Why would L kill anyone beyond the first person he tests the book with?

with the music playing whenever he opens the death note. oh my god yes.

The unthinkable. Hehe.

He would immediately deduce that shinigami are real and what the death note does, realize that using it would risk his own life and also jeopardize the important work the shinigami do, and turn it in at the nearest shrine.

>jeopardize the important work the shinigami do
>killing people to stay alive
>important work

L would probably end up no different than Light.

L had no qualms about offing Lind L. Taylor as long as it might lead to the capture of Kira. L would do anything to punish those he saw as criminals, just like Light.

When he finds out the DN is real and that Shinigami exist, he'd simply give up the ownership. Ryuk would find another human.
I mean, there's nothing much you can do. You can't arrest a Shinigami.

Also L would use Watari's money to buy him tons of apples provided he'll return to the Shinigami world without causing troubles with the death note in the human world.

What if Misa-misa got the note before Kira?

You can buy more apples than someone can eat in the time before they go bad on the average man's discretionary income.

Kill rivals.

You can't kill yourself with the death note you fuck

What do you mean by got?

Did he find it? I doubt L would care about some random notebook.

If L actually read it, then he would probably end up experimenting, but would not do much else with it.

Bored out of his mind because L wouldn't use it and would probably have it analyzed and dispose of it/use as a secret weapon against notorious criminals/terrorists.

Taylor was already on death row though. Not like it mattered.

Instead of the deathnote falling from the sky at light's school it's dropped in L's apartment or something maybe?Getting take by L instead of light.

You have to look at it from an experimental perspective. You need controls if you're going to properly test something. Going balls out with no regard for consequence gets you fucked fast.

Does the rule of not having an afterlife apply if you test the notebook once before you learn about the rule?

Ryuk would get bored and kill L just to avoid drowning in his autism. A death note user only lives as long as his shinigami is satisfied.

I don't think he wants to kill criminals but if he did he'd be way better at it than light since he doesn't have a god complex.

What if the ending wasn't a complete asspull and light ending up winning as he should have?

Says who?

Light was an idiot and was destined to lose from the start

C-Kira did, user.

How does Near kill Mikami using the Death Note when he wasn't in ownership of it?
