Yep. I mean, hell most of the what I'd call "heavy hitters" have yet to air.
That's my personal opinion but imo MahoYome has the potential to carry the season by itself after seeing the 3-part OVAs in the unlikely case that really nothing else appealing should come up besides it.
Over 15 shows haven't even fucking aired yet.
It's almost as if you can check out the source material or read a description of the series before watching it and decide if it appeals to you or not.

There are three movies, and yeah, they're a prequel.
The first half of the second season is just going to be a TV version of the movies and the second half will be a sequel to S1.
Mahoutsukai looks great. I consider myself well served with at least one good show per season.
Another at the very least was something you could watch for fun irregardless of how spoiled you were on the plot. If anything it was twice as enjoyable if you watched it without Sup Forums.
Ousama on the other hand I was fast-fowarding it from the first 2 minutes and I didn't stop until the end. It's so bad it's not even good.

It is like fucking Higurashi. Basically the the whole killing game was due to the culprits opening a Kodoku in some backwater town. The killing game is like some kind of magic of survival of the fittest game.
