Healthy dose of skepticism apply. Kadokawa's been openly called to question by Nip business press, so don't rule out that this is just a stall tactic.
(I got to admit, it's been really annoying to spread info here lately. That mod and so forth makes me somewhat hesitant to even talk seriously and link to shit. Anyways, quick summary.)
-Bunshun, an opportunistic Japanese tabloid dropped their bomb today, but it's mostly a dud of sorts, putting out dirt such as Raccoon's VA smokes and alleging that it was Director Fukuhara of Yaoyorozu studio who's to blame for this shit.
-Nikkei business newspaper (think Wall Street Journal) published an op/ed of sorts today where they clearly stated that the whole of the anime industry's in deep shit, not just Kemono Friends. Kemono Friends is just the match that lit up the powdgekeg that is the anime production committee model, being in place since the 80s. Anime directors essentially waive their personal rights to the IP completely and the publishers rake in the lion's share of the revenue.
-SaveJapariPark Discord's now running an event calling for people to use Twitter (cause unlike in Murrica, Twitter's actual a legit communication tool to Elevens) and write note of support to Tatsuki and to Yaoyorozu studio along with a signature. A fan singalong for the OP is going to be autistic, but it's in progress(edited)
Thanks for the summary of recent happenings mate.
Is the Nikkei piece on their website?
good infopost bro
No. This is coming from Nikkei Veritas weekly, which isn't for 'plebs'. That's not just ordinary paywall article.
Veritas costs 500 yen to buy and you need a paid subscription in membership area to read it.
Sounds serious. So basically translation never
Yeah friends are alright, but can they beat an archmage ?
...
Do not lewd friends
>Anime directors essentially waive their personal rights to the IP
Because they're retards, that's the one thing you can't fault the producing overlords for.
Disgusting.
They are actually half bullied into accepting those terms.
Anyways, some real gossip.
Fukuhara, who's the director of Yaoyorozu, Just Pro and DMM Futureworks is seriously pissed off at Bunshun's reporting to the point that he publicly called out the reporter Suzuki on his Twitter page. Fukuhara's saying that Bunshun's slandered him.
Can I get a quick rundown on what's going on here?
How much of a rundown do you need? Do you need a summary on the whole Tatsukigate from the start?
If you're offering, that'd certainly be helpful.
We should make a giant copypasta about everything that's gone on so far for people that ask this.
>Tatsuki no longer director of KF s2.
>Everyone mad at Kadokawa.
>Kadokawa never backs down.
>Kadokawa used the magic finger to point at innocents.
>Stupid people tried to start stupid rumours.
Is this good enough?
I wouldn't be surprised if they only announced that to prevent the protest that was scheduled for today.
I want to pet a Kaban!
It'll still happen if Tatsuki isn't rehired, they're only delaying the inevitable.
>Erect_nipples
>Barusu
What does this mean?
Ok. Here's my own rough summary of the said article.
The source is Save Japari Park Discord.
discord.gg
Thank the Japanese guy who actually paid for the thing.
If I am reading this correctly, this Nikkei Veritas article is saying that the entire concept of Anime production committee has been riddled with problems, and Kemono Friends has only exposed those problems.
The article first started with a basic summary of Tatsuki's tweet on the 25th, and then it went into how JRA and Nissin had to clarify in public that they got permission to work on their advertisement campaigns
and then it pointed out that taiwan, korea also reacted to this event, then the article mentioned about how nico Nico Douga's likely see even worse performance from membership decline as a consequence of this mess.
And it looks like that that the committee system, been first established by Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaa movie of 1980, is a system where the director really had to give up any personal right to the integrity of the IP and that the real beneficiary is the IP holder (publishers such as Kadokawa or Bandai Visual)
There's also uneven distribution of salary where animators essentially starve.
The ending to this article sounds kind of bitter as the editor said that this crisis of Japari Park really is the crisis of the whole anime industry, and others outside of it should take heed.
>he doesn't know Laputa meme
Where do I look one for, are they on the Zoo?
They're all over the place, user. You'll find one one day.
The world is your zoo.
Let me get this straight, Mine Yoshizaki created the IP, so does he have no influence over how things are handled?
he is very ok
nothing is problem
such people who screams loundly such idiot remark is only hypocrit foreigners
Only as much influence as Kadokawa allows him to have.
>been first established by Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaa movie of 1980
No wonder that old guy is grumpy as fuck.
So he does not own the IP then? Hr can't give others permission to use it?
Intellectual Property like other properties are transferrable. I am note sure how the project commitee system works but there might be requirements for creators to transfer the rights to the commitee so that the investors get some form of control over it.
Hey don't be mean you morally ambiguous Jap.
just passed by the Save Japari Park Discord, made me feel full of hope
I don't understand.
I have to give credit to that one Nip that managed to troll gaijin by mentioning gun control.

動物のストレスストレス言う割にじゃあ野生の動物は天敵に襲われるストレスとかないのかよと突っ込みたくなる
they say "animal's stress stress"
so I wanna say "is there no stress attacked by natural enemies for wild animals?"
I'm glad Japan gives zero fucks about the perpetually offended moral busybodies we have over here.
These are select picked quotes from 2ch.
Plenty of nips were also upset about it. Don't be misled.

Just date Silver.
Ok.
Everyone, although it is a problem in Japan, I'm really sorry I destroyed the bulletin board.
I think that the way of thinking is different from culture because it is different, but I think that it is really bad that I abused everyone in dirty wording.
Sorry for mede here a really uncomfortable place.
I think that I want to see from the neutral position about this uproar (but KADOKAWA is doubtful from my perspective if it goes with emotional theory).
Everyone, our companion really is sorry.
Who what when where why?
I need context.
>Anime directors essentially waive their personal rights to the IP completely and the publishers rake in the lion's share of the revenue.
Gee. It's almost like that's how things work when publishers fund the entire fucking thing and accept all of the financial risk. Only a veteran is going to be able to negotiate for a better deal because their track record provides less risk. The fucking reason your threads are getting deleted is because you're throwing nonstop tantrums about how capitalism works.
Serval's seiyuu actually looks like Serval
It's sort of like how if you work for tech/biotech companies. They usually have a clause in your hiring contract, that any shit you think up/create while employed by them automatically becomes their IP. Its why you never see a guy "think up" something while hes working for another company. They always get their foundations down, leave then begin to try to sell it.
user, I...
Actually, it's getting deleted because mod's being a faggot.
user...
Be Kadokawa
>Give an upstart director & his company a chance at fame & fortune
>Give them your property
>Director's company becomes famous, you bring others (VAs) into the project to share profits
>Director illegally makes episode behind your back, steals your assets, breaks the contract he promised to follow
>Wisely let him go to save the franchise that made him & his company money
>Bring in the VAs to explain the whole picture
>Get called cruel, mean because of your actions
>Get browbeaten because of ravenous watchers piggy-backing on an issue
Like the Parable of the Landlord and the Tenants, the tenants will basically do whatever (kill your men even your son) to get your land and property
No metatalk, please
Kadokawa is true victim.
Nope.gif, unless you don't consider USA to be a capitalistic society where people working on derivative work does have some rights over their work.
I really hate using Sup Forums terminology, but you are a lying corporate dicksucking cuck.
Template 43.
I'm sorry, I am not good at English, so I think I did not get it well. I mistook the subject.
I just saw a Japanese writer saying "There is nothing wrong with the photos of Selle Cat"and "Only hypocritical foreigners are concerned".
I wanted to apologize about him as a Japanese is. I am sorry I've wasted your precious time.
I want to drink Kaba-chan's sweat!

An appropriate time to use this picture
>It's almost like that's how things work when publishers fund the entire fucking thing and accept all of the financial risk.
Yup, some people forget that Tatsuki and Co were able to do what they did because Kadokawa was basically suffering all the blows, misfortunes, risks for them
Not only that, Kadokawa basically gave them all the seed money to do this WHILE being the risk sponge in the entire scenario
>KF had a quick rise into popularity
>The fanbase is incredibly wide as it goes from kids to adults and normies to otakus
>VAs appear in several live shows and concerts
>As soon as it is on its apex terrible management starts hurting them
>Cheap tabloids take any chance to gossip-talk about anything related to KF
It's literally the way of the popstar, the only thing left is that one of VAs go insane and start doing drugs, turn into an unsuccessful solo singer or something like that.
Political claim that idiots talk in thought:
Animal rights
Some people also forgot that Kadokawa ran the franchise nearly to the ground and gave Tatsuki less budget than $20000 per episode to work with when the usual average is $50000-$90000.
Nice one.
I love how publisher apologists are crawling out of the woodwork.
So, this mess can actually change something in the anime industry or not?
post yfw this is how Kemono Friends S2 turns out
youtube.com
It's one samefag desperately trying to derail the thread. Ignore and post cute pictures.
>$20000 per episode
"How dare Kadokawa give only this much of their own money (plus an existing IP) to a nameless upstart? Kadokawa should have bled itself to give Tatsuki all the money he could ever need."
How is this even news to begin with? I thought smoking was more common/less stigmatized in Japan.
I'll cover two bases at the same time.
Has Ucchi ever performed the OP live?
I have to do it Friends, i have to
Arai-san is dumb! DUMB!!!
Yes my son, go forth and reveal to them the truth!
nice hippo
Because the tabloid doesn't have any real dirt to report.
Here's how pathetic the whole Bunshun expose was. That's all they got to say.
1. The reason why the director got switched was because the negotiation between Yaoyorozu's director and Kadokawa failed apart, to everyone's surprise.
2. Arai's VA smokes.
3. A member of PPP works part-time at a high end bar.
Fukuhara's retort's been:
-Arai's VA doesn't smoke. The paparazzo photo was taken when the VA was forced to ran to a smoking area since some drunk's pestering her while it's raining outside.
Yes
twitter.com
Are we bullying the raccoon now?
Fans dislike that common idols are smokers.
She is a voice actor of adults, so Japanese fans are hardly a problem.
From today's event.
You're moving goalposts friend. You said kadokawa was the victim here because they took a risk funding KF. The reality is they didn't take a risk and spent as little as possible.
Now you're calling Tatsuki a nameless upstart (he isn't) and implying that he wanted more money (he didn't). He paid out of his own pocket to make his own episode.
Wait those aren't Silver and Ezo Red.
>Ucchi doing idol dancing in Kaban's outfit
Fucking amazing, thank you. I always see the new seiyuus perform but never Ucchi. Have a sexy Ucchi.
>didn't take a risk and spent
Spending implies risk: still didn't know if Tatsuki could deliver yet they gave him money that was not his, lessening his risk in the project
Tatsuki had everything to gain on the back of Kadokawa's loss of money
>He paid out of his own pocket to make his own episode.
That's to make sure he has skin in the game: Kadokawa can't just pour him money as if it were an abundant resource
(you)
>they didn't bring Rhino's VA in a suit of armor
How the heck did other mega successful anime never ran into this problem?
Why is it that something comfy like KF got into this?
