Yes. very much so. that is all.
I just finished reading the last volume. I loved Azumanga Daioh and you guys said "you could try Nichijou, but it is a lot stupider". You guys were right, but I still loved it.
Now I'm deciding whether to download the show or buy LuckyStar or K-On or something. I know nothing about manga.
You haven't watched the show yet? do that first, definitely. Also, K-ON is very different, but incredible, my favorite show. Watch everything, but recommend against reading the manga.
Manga is one of those things that I can comfortably do when I'm tired of being on my laptop, so I haven't actually had a chance to sit down and watch many anime adaptations.
I'll probably go ahead and watch Nichijou, it sounds like it isn't a 1-to-1 thing like Azumanga Daioh seemed to be. I'll check out K-On, though that one seems a lot more waifu-ish. What's wrong with its manga?
K-on anime was severely moefied by Kyoani. The manga seemed like a normal 4koma about girls and their club.
Lucky Star is surreal, to get the effect, look up the season when LS aired and watch at least 3 of those other anime along with Lucky star. You can even watch anime from the preceding season.
I vouch for K-ON.
Nichijou's adaptation is pretty good. Too bad manga scanlation wasnt finished
It was hit or miss. Anything in the Hakase house was a miss, plus some others. It had some really good hits though (elevator, waitress, card tower).
LS is more direct parody then? Dang. That's a lot of effort required.
4Koma is nice. So the manga isn't as moe? Maybe I should skip the anime then? I don't have a lot of experience with heavy moe. Nichijou didn't feel moe at all.
I read the translation by Vertical. I don't know how accurate it is.
They could've honestly cut those characters out entirely and there would still be enough material. I liked the science teacher though.
Nichijou is like a "direct/straight" comedy.
Most of its humours are based on "excessive/overact" events on a slow Slice-of-Live event.
It is not as gentle as Azumanga Daioh and other SOL comedies. It is direct, spontaneous, rough to the extreme.
Pick it if it's within your taste.

Nichijou has some really great dry and absurdist humor though.
I'm OP and I read it and loved it. I was just seeing what the more enfranchised people thought of it compared to "the competition". Also, was hoping to get a recommendation for a similar manga.
yuri yuri can get pretty ridiculous at times if you don't mind a little /u/.
I found out about that show because of the Anti Bully Ranger meme, which was apparently the only segment where they are loli-ized via flashback?
Fuck it. I have no shame already. May as well snag it up. Is the Manga good or is it just an anime primarily?
Manga is pretty good, you could do either.
The manga is great
Alright. Snagging it up tomorrow then.
Non Non Biyori, Renge would fit right in with the Nichijou cast.
Not him but the anime is just that much better than the anime, so much so that the mangaka actually used the design of the anime later on. And it's not only the art style that is superior, the anime actually adds a lot of elements and expands the story. The anime only scenes are actually the best part of the show (which sounds like a joke, but it isn't).
You could try Yotsuba and danshi kokosei no nichijou. I also recommend Calvin and Hobbes but that's comics
Beat ya to Yotsuba&, yeah, read that immediately after Azumanga Daioh. Never heard of the other ones.
