You know what today is? That's right, the day Redline released officially in Japan 2010. And today is special because not only is Redline 7 YEARS HAND DRAWN, it is now7 YEARS OFFICIALLY OLD, according to Japan's release date.
This pretty much sum up the whole movie. 7 years and its animation is yet to be topped
Eli Scott
>its animation is yet to be topped If most studios could afford to work on a single project for more than seven years, the industry would consistently produce films and series with a similar animation quality to Redline's.
Josiah Brown
Someone should get an Sup Forums stream going, would be fun to watch it to celebrate.
Benjamin Allen
Should I watch it? It's been in my backlog since years.
Logan Phillips
This, shame i can't stream for shit
Camden Morris
>work on a single project for more than seven years Wait, MADHOUSE made some anime in these 7 years. And it's not like they worked every day during these 7 years
Xavier Cruz
Seconding this.
Jason Butler
yes, even better if you smoke weed. Watch this stoned once a year, its always a great time.
Eli Phillips
The story isn't much but the animation alone OH BOY
Jeremiah Fisher
DUDE
Leo Fisher
Do it faggot
Wyatt Perez
yeah, great joke faggot.
Bentley Hernandez
Any good torrent still alive? I found the movie disappointing at the time (especially after this much waiting) but I should give it another chance
Charles Moore
Your life is a joke.
Jacob Hernandez
I didn't like it very much the first time I tried to watch it but can't remember why. It was great for each of next 5 viewings.
Ian Wright
but its not, its great. Meanwhile your sitting here slinging shit at people just trying to have a good time. What a disgusting loser you are.
Dominic Murphy
Who gives a shit about official release dates, it was released in 2009 you dumbass.
Sebastian Murphy
The problem I had with the movie was that the yellow line race was a hundred time better than redline
Carson Bailey
The pinnacle of sakuga, folded more than 1000 times over the lapse of seven fucking years.
Madhouse hired a fuckton of freelancers to make REDLINE.
James Cooper
On YouTube 720 60fps
Easton Howard
>Madhouse hired a fuckton of freelancers to make REDLINE. Yes, and that's why it will never be topped animation wise, no other studio have the balls to pull something like this again, even madhouse them selves can't pull it again
Sebastian Sullivan
That's pretty common IRL. F2 racing > F1. Redline was still good but in most part it was because of stakes.
Liam Nguyen
Good lord, I still remember the threads when it finally came out subbed. I've been here too long
Austin Morris
Wasn't expecting a romance story when I first came across it. Not that I'm complaining.
Michael Perez
it was the right amount
Jaxon Nguyen
Sup Forums draws Redline2 when?
Levi James
JP is underrated character
Jacob Young
How is Trava still a fucking ova and never a series
Seeing those two made it worse desu, i haven’t seen an anime as interesting as that
You might already know this, but it was initially planned to be a series. This is why there are so many different characters with barely any screen time.
Mason White
>Redline Day
This for me is still one of the greatest songs eer
Michael Morris
Can we all agree that Sonochi was hot as fuck?
Jonathan Morris
I think that is a given user.
Ryder Green
JP is the hootest.
Thomas Morales
With the exception of Akira (and The Thief and the Cobbler but I'm not sure that was released properly), I can't think of a movie which is animated better than Redline. It's an instant sign of a shitposter when they think it's animated badly.
Zachary Reyes
7 years wasted making a movie with a meme artstyle that looks like shit
Nicholas Green
Atleastyoutried.jpg
Thomas Cruz
Redline is better than Akira. Akira doesn't have Redline's really special animation models and shading, nor as much or as well done mechanical animation overall.
Charles Foster
It seems like everyday there is some long anniversary for things I watched as they came out. What is happening, please turn back the clock!
Matthew Diaz
Watched it recently. 10/10 will watch again.
Asher Baker
I thought it was a movie that only had that animation going for it. It seemed as I was wrong during the first 30-60 or so minutes but it takes sucha nosedive after that.
Almost disappointed me as much as Your Name.
Luke Green
i really like this movie
Gabriel Morris
Great movie, one of my favourites
Mason Ortiz
Third act was felt off with the pacing.
Dylan Watson
I'm trying but ffmpeg is being a bitch May redownload a version with different encoding
Hunter Watson
MACHINE HEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD
Daniel Edwards
Ok, the problem was with ustream, not ffmpeg What streaming site should I use?
Noah Torres
S E V E N
Logan Allen
YEARS
Isaac Miller
>SEVEN YEARS Are we supposed to laugh now?
Owen Lopez
Oh boy. I still remember waiting for this movie. It's kinda depressing. I'm getting old.
Austin Collins
Got it on blu-ray things fuggin cheap mayn
Blake Cook
I thought it was good the whole way through.
Jaxon Sullivan
I want a Lynchman and Johnnyboya OVA
Ayden Myers
YOU ARE THE FLOWER, I'M THE RAIN
Mason Gomez
That is the smoothest character in existence.
Joshua Bell
Sonoshee was hot as fuck. I'm glad they got a happy ending. Redline Day is stuck in my head.
Gabriel Torres
Wow so smooth
Austin Hughes
>It's been 7 years >Still don't know Japanese
Luke Brooks
...
Jeremiah Jones
Don't blame yourself user. Learning it is a big commitment. I tried but then kind of just stopped after a year. It's not an easy language for most people.
Checked bandwidth and capped my torrent client, should be better now. If not I'll change encoding settings
Blake Barnes
Restarting stream with lower bitrate settings
Carson Lopez
thank you. appreciate it. I was coincidentally really in the mood for this movie in the past few days.
Matthew Walker
Still lagging
Benjamin Jackson
To hell with it, I'll watch the movie on my own.
Joseph Flores
goddam that intro. thanks boys was fun.
Jackson Moore
4chins has declined
Dylan Miller
...
Andrew Scott
Thanks for trying. It actually worked pretty well with youtube-dl + mpv combination, though the subs were still messed up.
Brayden Foster
I think the subs were getting desynced because my shit upload caused all that stuttering. Well, live and learn I guess.
Colton Reed
Who was she waiting for?
Xavier Bennett
her daddy
Lincoln Anderson
Were they definitely the same guy?
Thomas Carter
Her dad who is Machinehead. It's never outright stated but there are multiple scenes that strongly hint that he's her dad. The restaurant scene where she even nods to him, the redline race where her car gets totaled and Machinehead is shown to have a reaction towards it and the final race where he says that she's finally going to use that necklace.
Blake Stewart
Machinhead of course.
Logan Hughes
How can Machinehead be her dad, he's a Roboworld and she's a human
Gavin Johnson
Her last name is McLaren, maybe she's half robot or something. With all the other shit that happens in Redline it's probably not a stretch for them to be related. The planet the Superboins are from appears to be entirely female, how do they reproduce.
Jayden Ward
IT BROKE NEW GROUND
Jace Parker
It can't be 'proven', if that is what you're asking, but it is a fairly prevalent theory.
Elijah Bell
Fuck off
Michael Carter
>it came out 7 years ago
7 HAND-DRAWN YEARS OF OUR LIVES DOWN THE DRAIN
Carson Flores
I can't remember why I initially assumed he was the mob boss and then decided he might not be. I suppose it doesn't really matter which is why they left it.
Parker Wright
He's not from Roboworld. Also if I remember correctly someone mentions at one points that Machinehead kept upgrading his body to become faster so he didn't always look like that. She's probably not human, it's also speculated JP is probably not a human either.
Jonathan Walker
All I remember about it is wishing that they had put all that effort into animating a better story. It's one of those things where I feel like I owe it a rewatch but can't imagine my opinion of it changing too drastically.
